Thread: So I don't hate it here.

As I suspected I don't hate it here in Utah. the weather is nice, the mountains are great and ridding kicks ass!! However there is not a mountain bike club in sight. So you guys are stuck with me. The snow is about all melted in the mountains and the trails ready to ride. Yesterday I rode at a place named wheeler canyon, it consisted of a small 2 mile climb then it connects to another trail called the Maples trail which was a 4 mile climb to a ski resort. It was not the toughest climb but it was a good challenge, it was nice when I finally turned around and rode the 6 miles down.

Until that one fine October morning when you go outside and it's 27 and it stays 27, and the day before it was 60, and your body goes WTF?!!. And then my MTBing brother, you will not see another 60 degree day until May -- maybe.

I did see some talk on a local SLC board about starting a club... also let me know if you want me to hook you up with somone that I know in the SLC area who is very good rider.

Moe, sounds like the riding is great, just that you are missing in the brethren (and sistern??!) category that Mojo and Storm provided here. Thank goodness for the boards and internet. Remember, you are still welcome at the meetings.

I can speak from experience when I tell you that Moe is definitely living the good life in Utah. I was out there for a "business trip" (I would like to thank all you tax-payers for making it possible) and after my conference, Johnny, Moe and I drove down to Moe-ab and rode Slick Rock. If you have never experienced it, you are missing out, and I highly recommend trying to work it into your schedule at some point. I'll post some pics after I get them developed, and plan to write a story for the STORM newsletter when I have time. In the mean time, feel free to miss Moe, but don't feel sorry for him.

By the way if any of you come out I will take you to my work so you can see the cool shit we do here. Right now in our hanger we have a F-16 in two pieces. It is so cool!!!

That reminds me - I will be in UT at the end of August for vacation. I am planning on riding at least a few days, if not every day. Hopefully we can hook up. That would be way cool if it turned out to be the same time that Ben is going to be there. If nothing else I'll take you up on the offer of a tour, my 4yr old would dig it!

I keep telling my boss that I would empty garbage cans at Hill AFB. Every job that I have seen there requires more clearance than I have.
