Smile update my problem with Rideaway

I do think that if anyone has a problem with rideaway they should call Ruben "I learned that" Our problem was miscommunication on both parts matter of fact Ruben took the blame and said it was his fault but it wasnt. It was as much mine, and am sorry I didn't call him in the first place. He even is going to donate a new Kona bike for the the kids.

So know what Ruben is a god again

I tend to believe all the posts on bad service.

It would take more than giving away 1 bike to change my mind (tax right off)

tax write offs are only good if you donate more than $7,500 but you can believe what ever you want my goal was to show that Rideaway made strides to do good they didnt have to do anything.

Ruben has his moments, as I would if I worked in a bike shop.

But I have not ever walked out of Ride Away feeling wronged. Ruben and his staff have gone the extra distance for me on many occasion. And the support that they offer local cycling is substancial.

One of the Santa Cruz frames that STORM gave away at the Hill Country Challenge was donated by Ride Away. Also in the same week they donated a Lemond road bike given away at the Wildflower ride.

Each of us has the shop that they prefer. Me, I have been screwed around at almost every shop in town, except Ride Away and B&J (RIP).

On that note everyone please welcome one of the newest members to Mojo,

I am a RideAway customer and was sorry that Ruben and you were having a misunderstanding. He is a good guy and I have had both good and bad experiences there. I still say Ruben is a good guy. He is trying to grow a new business and it is not easy.

Glad you guys worked it out Glenn. And about service, these guys are pretty nice, but you need to take the time to get to know them a little. Had you gone in and refreshed Ruben's memory earlier, you probably wouldn't have had any problems at all with him.

Alan's right, Ruben matched Storm's donation and together they donated two Santa Cruz Chameleon frames. Hopefully you will not feel the way you have in the future. Remember Glenn, when you try to get donations from businesses, it is never a good idea to publicly slam the business. You never know what is coming ahead.

That is unless its Manitou or Marzocchi. Inside joke for anyone who gets it...

I agree, most people are quick to complain about something and slow to praise good service. In my books a note of praise represents the same number of people who make ten complaints (food for thought)

But you also must consider that it is Glenn that is retracting his complaint and I would imagine that he has a deeper understanding of what happend than you or I.

Cannot you just be happy that we have shops like this that support local cycling? Right off or not. Who cares? Ruben has a business to run and if it is a right off then good for him. Are you the type of person that gives the IRS extra money at tax season by avoiding deducting something that you could otherwise deduct? Of course not. So why would a business be any different.

This topic is not about taxes, it is about good service.

And if the initial discussion has scared you away from going to Ruben's shop, then so be it. Who cares.

Being an ex-skateboard shop owner, I say its Ruben who should care. The more he starts caring about his lost business the more he will start showing all customers how much they mean. Word of mouth will grow and customer satisfaction will bring in more customers.

Personally, I think RideAway is a big player in town and I hope they get huge. I will always do business there as they are good people. Maybe standoffish or just shy, but they are good people when you get to know them and they aren't mean or malicious.

If there was a store that I wanted to be like and I was Ruben, I'd take real good notes on Bike World Broadway's service. It's usually better than most. I'll still be going to Ruben for 80% of all my bike related stuff. For the rest there's the web, Santa Cruz and Carlitos...

I just re-read this and now I am afraid that Crusty is going to give me crap for telling how to do his taxes.

    I can see it now

Yea if for each complaint there are many more who never said anything.....

First you agree then turn it into a flame on me WTF, if you don't care what i say ,so why did you reply to it !!!!!

Taxes are not on topic..... hell most things on this board have nothing to do with bikes at all, and your jumping on my case about it,
what i want to know is if people where boxers or briefs....yea that is real interesting.

No that is a proven fact in bizness, for each complaint there are aporx 30 people who never did lodge a complaint,

Well since you got that first part wrong, could you be blind to the rest.

    Guess so.

Crusty, do you naturally lean toward the negative? do you vote republican?

that's a joke people! so chill. just because i believe that Republicans make up 49% of all the evil in the world, doesn't mean you shouldn't vote for them. the other 49% flows from Democrat HQ. and the remaining 2% stems from, you guessed it, cheese.

    ----------------------

"hell most things on this board have nothing to do with bikes at all"

i get down on my knees and thank ALF everyday for that.

    -----------

"what i want to know is if people where boxers or briefs....yea that is real interesting."

remember Crusty, this is a free for all. anything goes.

personally, i hate going into message forums and seeing more posts about bike politics (for lack of a better word) than about who's riding where, who rode where, and where the next ride will be.

also, as i've mentioned before....look at all the places on the net where there is a forum that has rules. look at Mojo. look at all the hair pulling on the "freedom restricted" forums. look at Mojo.

i don't think i've ever (and Mojos, correct me if i'm wrong) seen a big, nasty dispute on Mojo....except the time Chief and Fishergirl were going through their rough period.

*cue "Chief and Fishergirl*" soundtrack* "and i, had, the time of my life....no i never felt this way before....and i swear, it's the truth......and i owe it all to you.......

    -----------

as for boxer/breifs......that was a poll "held up" for the Ladies of Mojo.

besides, the interpersonal gap between the two sexes sucks. you close that gap and most people get out of the dark ages. and maybe, we end up a little bit less sexually repressed.

i recently heard this (once was mind blowing and twice, well, there's no word for hearing THIS twice. twice damnit! TWICE!!!!) from a "lady friend":

"no, i can't have an orgasm. my mom said if i ever had an orgasm while having sex i'd get pregnant."

all i could say to that was: "well honey, put up the big top, cause the circus is cumming to town!!!!!"

    -----------

hey T_, thanks for the recommendo.

    *turns to the camera*

you know, it's times like this that i'm reminded of the great taste of Clif Shot.

    *rips open a pack*

ahhhh.....yum! when you're feeling like you've got a dead bear tied to your seatpost, stop pretending you're Lance, and reach for a Clif Shot.

Clif Shot: Because you'll NEVER be like Lance.

No i am a independent. both party have things i don't agree with.

I know you work on bikes and would go nuts if you had to talk about them all the time, i don't and would prefure to see more bike posts ( as you can see i don't respond to most non bike treads)

If you don't race like quite a few here i can see you not careing about bike politics at all, but trail acsess is part of bike politics , so is wich shop to by at in a smaller way.

Telling me i am posting off topic is a joke compaired to how much you post about non bike stuff, so it comes off as a flame to me, i don't see him giving you a hard time .

Sometimes you may take things the wrong way. Talk to T__ about the how easy it is to misunderstand someone over a computer screen. You choose anonymity. That makes it difficult. I enjoy getting out for a ride with people that I have a difference of oppinion with. Often helps make you realize that the other person is human.

No, I am not telling you what to do or what you think.

Understand this Crusty, I do not dislike you. I have found many of your cycling related posts informative. I read them, and would comment if I had anything more to add to them, but I don't. A good example is your comments on gear inches. I found this very informative.

Also you may not realize this but you are a true Mojo. You are opinionated and ask the tough questions like why? Questions that sometimes people don't want to be asked. This often initiates change. I know this, we have seen it in STORM.

And now if you wish we can take the discussion back to tax right offs. There are several people on the board who are very knowledgeable on taxes. Me I cannot help you with it. I have my taxes done for me.

Crusty posted "No that is a proven fact in bizness, for each complaint........"

there are no proven facts, just statements that presume fact. even what is believed to be factual can be infactual. science proves that. and even science is wrong sometimes. look as President Jr's Administration's turn around on the global warming issue. now they say it IS a problem. maybe whoever did the work for them messed up and gave them the wrong info? maybe the people who believe, it IS a big problem, are wrong? who can say for sure? studies, charts and statistics can lie.

    --------------------------

    nothing is real.

    --------------------------

"I know you work on bikes and would go nuts if you had to talk about them all the time, i don't and would prefure to see more bike posts"

go nuts about talking about bikes? no way. look at all the blather i posted about one set of tires.

    Maxxis Larsen Mimo 2.0

    have you tried these yet?

    what are you currently running?

i'm a techno weenie junky. i dedicated a week, when 9 sp came out, to learning all the spec changes on cogset, rings, chains, and ders. the diferences were just milimeters but it was interesting.

    -----------------

yeah, bike politics plays a role in access. true. too bad because i think if it didn't there would be more trails open to ride. everyone's got an agenda and everyone else wants to be a hero.

    ------------------

"Telling me i am posting off topic is a joke compaired to how much you post about non bike stuff, so it comes off as a flame to me, i don't see him giving you a hard time."

if you meant that to me, then i'm glad you got the joke.

then again, i'm not sure who "him" is.

if it didn't come off as a joke then i appologize. this typed stuff never works a hundred percent like real life. then again, i'm completely naked, right now. that never seems to help people calm down, in real life, either. but damnit, it should!!!!!

There are no proven facts !!!!!!!!!!

What are you nuts, it is commen fact to biz people that most people are wimps and will not file a complaint.

Him was alaN giving me a hard time for being off topic.

I do wish things where a little more on topic, some joking is fun but it seems to be getting WAY to cute'se with all the bad jokes and polls.

It really does get boring after awhile, and i am gaging on it now.
