I'm not promising any shwagg or anything, but we'll be riding this evening from Blue Star Brewery. The weather looks a little iffy right now, but the noon weather forecasts said it should be clear by then.

I know today is the STORM meeting and George won't be able to lead the ride, BUT is anyone else gonna ride the Mission Trail tonight?

    Alan, Karissa?

    Anyone else?

George, do you know if Tim and Carrie will be there?

I'm thinking about considering coming out. A said he'd call me close to the end of work when he had a better idea if he could make it or not.

I would imagine that this is still on unless the weather changes. It's not raining where I am at right now.

George is really good about posting cancellations.
Check the thread closer to the ride time to be safe.

I'm gonna be here at the office until late so won't be able to make it tonight. If anyone can take the reins for this one week, the ride should go on.

Also, don't forget about the Ride of Silence this Wednesday, May 18 at 7PM. Hemisphere Park.

I had to work late as well - Monday's don't work out too well for me, so I have been doing the Mission Trail solo Tue / Wed since I am already downtown. In a previous note George you mention that " ... I can provide directions to give you up to a 35 mile loop ...".

Tell me how that works please...

Essentially, when you get to Mission Espada, you continue down past the low water crossing like you'd go if you're riding to Mission San Juan. BUT, when you get to Villamain, you turn RIGHT, (instead of Left/North to MSJ). You end up going over the infamous haunted tracks and that takes you out Presa Rd. to where there are a number of loops and routes you can take using part of the old MS150 route to US181, over to Southton Road, etc... Do be advised that aside from 181, you will be riding on isolated roads so if you have a mishap, it might be awhile before a passing motorist sees you. But that's also a benefit- there aren't many cars to contend with. I can plot you exact routes with distances and e-mail them to you but it will have to wait until after the Ride of Silence.

after spending the weekend on the oppressive heat of H-town, I am completely wilted.

I think I am going to elect for a spin class (or two) in an air conditioned gym.

They lost to their arch rivals. The team that beat at Nationals last year.
    Allies Soccer Club of Houston.

I really do feel like they beat themselves.
    They played poorly.
The goalie gave away two goals.
    One was a girl.
    So that was two points.!
THEN they got frustrated and lost their heads.

BUT the good thing is, as defending National Champions, they get to go to the National Championship anyway.

BTW, hj won't be going either, he evaporated.

I am thinking about it. One needs stress relief with only three days of school left.

    anybuddy?
    anybuddy slow?

50/50 chance i can make it....maybe with the kid in tow. Anne is sick, so I have to weigh what's better....stay at home and annoy her, or be a bastard and leave her on her own.
