I rode from the house and got hammered by rain as I reached the Little Red Barn but motored on. When I got to Blue Star it was still raining a little. I met up with 6 others riders and had an excellent ride in much cooler than normal weather. After we got out of King William, the streets were dry!!!!!!!!!!
If you ain't crashin'
You ain't goin' fast enough!!!!
We had a small incident on tonight's ride. Just after crossing the first road (Ashly, I believe) south of the damn, one rider ran into the back wheel of another. They both went down and one ended up with a broken collarbone, the other with some road rash on one leg. I've just started doing this ride again, so I don't know many of the riders by name. The young Hispanic rider's name was Jason. I called Martha and she came and picked him and his bike up. Then we transported him back to Blue Star where his parents met us to take him to E.R.![]()

Glad you had the sense to call someone to come down.
He (Jason?) looked like he was in some significant pain, but he took it pretty well. Hope he's alright.
The other fellow (purple bike - can't rememeber name) was favoring his ankle and not pedalling with it all the way back too. Total freak accident from what I could tell.
OUCHY!!!!
Can't we just let them crash into the creekbed?
All we need in the world are beautiful trails, sunny days and lot's of time to ride...

Grabbed a quick ride right after work. Since I work downtown, I decided to try the Mission Trail route on my road bike. This is one rough trail, I wish I had taken my mountainbike instead. Mission Road has some nasty ass pavement (incuding the bike lanes). Almost lost a few filings! The Mission Trails themselves weren't too bad. The police chase, complete with helicopter and about 10 police cars by Stinson Field made for an exciting time. Looks like they were in pursuit of someone that had dumped their car on the side of the road near the cemetery. From the looks on the police officers faces it looked serious.
On the way back, I cut through King William area and came up on a runner. As I went to get around her, I called out to let her know I was going to pass her. Unfortunately I spooked her, she screamed so loud it almost knocked me off my bike. Scared the crap out of her! I guess she thought I was going to jump her or something. She regained her composure, and apologized, and we both kinda laughed it off.
Barely got in 20 miles by the time I got back to the office, not much of a training ride but the scenery was nice/different.
Next time I'll do it on the MTB.

That's all I gotta say to those sorry sacks of shit who broke into my car while we were out on tonight's ride. Asshole stole my Rudy Project bag with about $600-700 worth of random shit in it (particulary though, my work clothes, prescription eyeglasses and various bike parts, tools and articles of cycling clothing). Enjoy it asshole because despite its replacement value, aside from my dress shoes, you won't even score a hit of crack for the shit you took. I suppose I shouldn't be too mad. You were too fucking stupid to take the MP3 player and laptop in the back seat.
Fortunately, a witness grabbed your license plate and not only do the cops know you drive a green Toyota 4Runner, but I do too (and most of all, I also now know where you live). So don't fear the cops. Fear a pissed off southsider.![]()

I keep hearing people talking about pouring, but have not seen any rain as of yet. I've seen alot of lightning playing off in the yonder distant in the evening. Last night there was actual lightning that was visible in the middle of the night but no rain that I could see.
speaking of roads that are scary. Nagadoches (sp) off of Evans is horrible. It looks like a munster nibbled along the sides of the shoulder
