we rode towards the dome first...............
played in the rock garden
around the dome
to sunset station and played on the stage area stairs
back to hemisphere and played on some rock formations and steps down close to the convention center
then played in the parking lot
back to the office to pick up George and Joshua
then down to first Friday

then to Beethoven's to meet Gary and his date.
hj and I headed back early to go start the grill.

We left Joshua at Beethoven's 'cause he was talking to a cutie. I think he got her number.
George, Middy, and I rode with Mr. Z to Broadway,
Mr. Z rode home and the three of us rode around the tourist area of downtown. George pulled the trailer while Middy and I did stoppies and wheelies at red and green lights.

Cruising around with the music trailer is a mini fiesta parade ready to happen. About 95% of the people we ride by respond positively and enthusiastically.

I'm thinking of adding more lights (OK, this last time, I didn't have any) like I've had in the past to really make it outlandish fun.

i was 5 minutes back heading over to the 'opening' and on the way there i ran into George leaving the place.

maybe they should have called it closing

Earnest was able to keep the tailgate tradition alive, i was running late and Gary was busy being a hero

We walked in, looked around, realized what the "exhibit" was and promptly left. In a word, it was pathetic.

Admittedly, I am no purveyor of art, but geez, any crap will pass for an art exhibit out there. Here's what the installation was:

About a dozen or so pillow dolls hand sewn and plainly pinned to a wall of the rental store. These dolls were representations of what the 'artist' encounters on her commute between home and work on the eastside to the westside- some crazy person, a stray bitch dog with teets, and other crap. And the dolls weren't even very thought provoking. But here was the laughable part: the stickers placed next to each 'art piece' with the price each one could be bought. The prices ranged from $35-$200!

I'm sorry, but I can't see any of them going for more than $7.50 and a pack (and even then, you overpaid for the pack of gum).

One thought came to mind as I left: Vrrrroooooooooooommmmmm! F

the contemporary art is often really sophmorish 'round town. Often it is crap with a long title, with the artist thinking a good title makes it good art. The level of craftsmanship and attention to detail is nil. Art that is thrown together as if it's Sunday night and the piece is due for Art 201, Monday morning.

The other popular trait is to make fun of the art business, poking fun at established artists and galleries. Not smart biting the hand that feeds ya.
