June 20-21-22 Canyon Park at Canyon Lake

BikeMojo.com and the Camino Real Cycling Club invite all cyclists to come out and enjoy a weekend of mountain biking, road riding, tubing, camping and comradery at Canyon Park. The Madrone Trail offers 8+ miles of challenging singletrack and plenty of canopy to keep you cool. More information at bikemojo.com and www.swf-wc.army.mil/canyon/CNpark.htm

Schedule of Events
Friday
Camping available
7:00 PM Dinner and Margaritas @ Papa Dock’s

Saturday

9:00 AM Road Rides (3 distances - 80, 35, 20+ shorter but steeper)
2:00 PM Tubing the Horseshoe
6:00 PM Stupid Bike Games
6ish Potluck BBQ and beverages
Dusk Movie night

Sunday

9:00 AM Group MTB ride

Camping at park access is free for MoJoFest.

Tubing - the arrangements are being made with Andy's again this year - they pick us up at the park and bring us back. No worries about driving/parking/re-grouping. Cost t.b.a. but was a reasonable $8 last year for transport and tube. The flow is low right now, hope for some rain in the Guadalupe basin before MoJofest weekend.

The park is dog friendly but I believe there is a leash requirement.

Not sure, but it usually follows the same format;

1pm..drink beer
2pm..drink beer
3pm..drink beer
4pm..watch Gary do toes, drink beer
5pm..think about eating, drink beer
6pm..keg empty, salute by drinking beer
7pm..finish watching Gary do toes, drink Night Train, followed by beer
8pm..burn some animal flesh (except for Z.) drink Cognac, make beer run.

hm...that's something to think....

are they as steep as the hills around Fredericksburg or Helotes (less hilly than Fredericksburg)?

Going for mountain on this one. It's just too nice. Hot roads versus good trails and jumping in the lake midway threw the ride, not even a consideration for the road.

The A route has an optional cutoff, don't know the mileage it drops but it's a pretty significant loop.

I just put it into my mapping software today. I'll try to get it with the cuttoff separately and see what the mileage is.

With multiple days and multiple rides, i'm thinking of exercising all three of my bikes.

I'm thinking.....in the heat of the day, late afternoon, take the ez up and my father's day gift, the zero gravity chair, some beer, maybe some kites, definitly the guitar, and just park myself lakeside, and try not to get too loaded to ruin happy hour. I mean, if your drunk, what's the sense of happy hour, right? That sounds like the best way to beat the heat besides spending the day in the cool of the local Wal-Mart.

If you're drunk before happy hour it's happy day isn't it?

Why limit yourself to one hour?

Me and the puppy will come out Fri and stay the weekend. I've got to go to work Sat night for 4 hrs, but I think I can sneak out and back. Will sadly interfere with toobing Sat, but at least I get to go this year.
