    Lajitas Routes

What route do most of you prefer to take from SA?

According to yahoo maps, the distance to Terlingua from SA going out US90 is 430.26 miles, but 7.5 hours. The distance going out I10 and turning off at Alpine is 462 but calculated time is 1 hour less.

I thought I would go 90 but I guess the small towns will slow us down so now I am undecided.

Nicer scenery on 90 but I10 is faster

Looks like we will go out hwy 90 because some other friends prefer the scenic old road. Planning to leave SA around 6:30am.

It should go without being said, but take it easy leaving Bexar County going west on Hwy 90, if Castroville and Hondo cops don't get you, the SO or DPS will. They like writing for 7 over especially when you are atop a hill and gaining speed down grade.

    Have a safe trip!
