Sweet. It's the same route we went on the last time you and HJ were there for the Unofficial Wednesday Ride.

    Gotta break it in.
I think this translates to: I purchased a new vehicle that is built for "road trips" and the color is tan?

I have no clue what will be going on in February, but it doesn't matter. I had so much fun last year that I'm definitely in again for this year!

Will be leaving early Wed morning to ride in the afternoon with Tobin and gang. Want to be at the camp at 12:00 in the afternoon. Figure that means leaving at 5:00 am. Returning on Sunday after we get up. Not early

I think Big Red and I will be in SA on Tues night ready for an early Wed departure. I'm sure we can work out some carpooling or caravanning out there.

    Memo
    To: All y’all mountain bikers
From: the Mas O Menos production crew at Desert Sports
Re: 2010 Mas O Menos Mountainbike Fest

It is with a heavy heart that Desert Sports must announce the cancellation of the 2010 Starlight Theater Mas O Menos 100k Mountain Bike Fest.

It’s been a great run, since back in the day (way back in ‘04) when we first convinced the fine folks at the CASI site that this whole mountain bike thing was a possibility. We had visions then of how great it could be ... but we never truly imagined how fabulous it would turn out! Dancing! Riding in sixty foot rattlesnakes! Racing! Eating! Smashing records and becoming part of the USAC National Ultra Marathon Calendar. And we all had so much fun the whole time. It was an honor and a privilege to fashion such a terrific festival for y’all to come out and enjoy.

But like all good things, this one has come to an end. After over 20 years as a mountain bike race course, we here at Desert Sports have finally been unable to secure satisfactory agreements with all of the landowners along this route. We can no longer present the event that you have come to know, to love, and to anticipate.

We want to thank everyone for making what turned out to be the “last” MasOMenos such a terrific event, and we need to thank all the participants and locals alike who have supported this event in all its incarnations in the past. With that in mind, we encourage all our terrific and generous sponsors to pop their sponsorship dollars that they had earmarked for Mas O Menos into the bank to collect interest ... because we’ll be back, soon, with something new and exciting, and we’ll be looking for your support for our next mountain bike adventure in West Texas.

Until then, true wheels and tailwinds, and we’ll see you on the trails!

    1. There's more than just for 'the race'.

    2. Most of us have that weekend set aside already....

I propose a Terlingua roadtrip for Presidents Day weekend, February.

Attractions include, but not limited to:

    the Lajitas Trail System
    Big Bend Ranch S.P.
Getting Lost/Finding our way (my personal favorite)
    Visiting Gumby @ La Kiva
    Kathys Kosmic Kowgirl Cafe
    Chili Relleno at Tivo's
    The Starlight
    Hiking in Big Bend

    Trip will NOT include
A ride to the top of Tres Cuevas
