Good ride, interesting trails, lots of fun. Both knees banged up (will wear knee pads next time) and a leg full of cactus thorns. Love it.

I think…. To ride that path of destruction I may have to go out there with an extra gallon of gas and a small portable chainsaw… make it a lil bit more Clydesdale accessible. .

Did you ever meet Don Sleeper (RIP)? He was easily 6 feet or taller and he built awesome tight trails. I once asked him why such a tall person built such tight trails. He said that as long as his dog Vinny (RIP) could clear them, he'd be able to clear them too. It's called body english.

Don would have liked Vinny's Revenge, IMO. The name is our tribute to him in posterity. It requires finesse, lots of bike control and burst climbing. Its deliberately cut to tax bike skills and testicular fortitude. Most who like flowy wide open trail that you can big ring aren't going to enjoy it at all, but thats by design.

And wouldn't have it any other way.

it actually flows pretty well for a tech trail, imo. A counter-case to it would be "7" over in birds of prey. that is the unflow.

I was heading to NT about 9:30am this morning and came up on about 6 guys in full on camo and paintball guns heading toward Blattman from under the 1604 bridge. Did anyone else come across these guys? They had about 4 trucks parked under 1604. That was sureal riding up while they were walking into battle. To each his own I guess but my first thought was "moving targets" and to make it worse, I was wearing red.

Yeah, he was much taller than me.

Often....I find myself asking myself what I have learned from the journey....We are lucky to be here, on this beautiful planet. We are lucky to have the short amount of time that we are granted. And we are lucky that our beautiful planet hasn't killed us (yet).

Today is a good day to ride.

Sam and I have seen those guys out there before, they saw us coming (we did slow down and make noise so they would see us) and they paused long enough for us to pass by and get clear of them, not a problem at all that day.

Anytime your wearing pads and still seem to loose some skin it's a good trail. Plus added bonus I got saw down a tree with my bike!
It is a great trail, will ride again for sure. The drops are nice and small....
    Huh?

I second the notion of another ride in saldo this Sunday

Warm-up on night train then vinny's revenge would be a great ride.
    Huh?

Hope it's dryer by then. It rained all night on already damp trails. Therefore I'm bailing and heading to Albuquerque for the next few days.

Check out Spruce Cabins. Quiet, quaint, fairly low cost.
