We need to work on securing our judge for next year. Hopefully he will be allowed into Lajitas by then.

I put it on my top 10 rides of all time. What a blast to ride with great friends on that day... Doug, Alan, Jimmy, Kyle, Luis, George D., Cynthia, Hunter, I can't remember any more names because it's past my bedtime.

All of the Chili was excellent.

Real glad to hear it. How's the bike?
Raise your skill level to the level of the trail, donít bring the level of the trail down to your riding level.

Don't mind me, I'm just along for the ride.

The bike appears to be fine. I was able to ride it to the next check point after Blammo straightened out the stem, and it doesn't seem to have suffered any damage after bumping around in the TPWD pickup bed with two other bikes during the 3.5 hour ride back to Lajitas. Thank you for your concern, John.

Lungs feel good. I've been able to get a full breath without serious discomfort since minutes after the accident, which is why I didn't think I'd broken any ribs, & didn't even imagine the possibility of a partially collapsed lung. The chest tube incision is giving me a bit of hell with some pretty sharp pain this week, & looking like a slight infection is trying to set in, but I'm battling it with copious amounts of Neosporin + Lidocaine. Ahhhh...

Ribs are sore, but not as acutely painful as the last time I fractured one, which I attribute perhaps to my fitness & regular yoga practice. Or maybe I'm just not as sensitive in my old age.

The shoulder is pretty jacked up, & still sore as hell. The follow-up last week showed the scapula in good position to heal well. I've gained a lot of mobility back, but I'm concerned that even after the fracture heals, soft tissue damage is going to continue to give me hell. But I've dealt with chronic pain in the other shoulder for years, so we'll see how it goes, & learn to cope if so.

Pain management plan is proving effective as I continue to try to wean off the narcotics, but hell...I feel so much better with them on-board. Is it 5:00 yet? Well, all right...

Glad you're on the mend. Hope the soft tissue in the shoulder heals up too.
