There has to be SOMEONE who rides road in Dallas!

Looking for decent places to ride and people to ride with. I live in Richardson just northeast of the 635/75 nightmare so there's not much in the way of non-suicidal roads near my apartment.

Don't ride the road but you can find someone here. http://www.dorba.org/

The only time I've ridden there was at White Rock Lake just South of 635 and West of 75. We road around 40 that day circling the lake. There were hundreds of riders out there.

    White Rock

Data is right, there is a nice road loop around WR lake, you will literally see hundreds of riders some days.
    Pay close attention.

    dallas rides

you can get on a bike/walk trail just north of 635 & Hillcrest at a City of Dallas park. this trail runs along white rock creek about 8 miles to white rock lake. the ride around the lake is about 11 miles. there is minimial interaction with cars.

I would concur on the White Rock thing; used to live in Lakewood and place was jammed with roadies...

I see alot of roadies every weekend coming up Renner from 75 / the new TI plant in Richardson. I -think- they form up from Richardson Bike Mart on Arapaho/Coit, but I could be wrong. I would also guess that perhaps UTD has some roadies that stage out of those big parking lots?

I'm here for the summer and can ride on weekends....job takes up all other days (except Fri. afternoons).

I'm staying at SMU and can roll out from there or anywhere nearby....anyone want to show me the way to White Rock Lake?

I'm not the best peep for the dallas side of life, but you will find much enlightenment on either DirtDawgs.org or DORBA.org. Do you only ride road or hit the dirt as well?

I actually spend most of my time on my SS, but don't really have a guide for Dallas trails. Plus, I've gotten really out of shape from having not ridden it in nearly 2 weeks.

I did find White Rock Lake today, did two laps around it. That's a nice park there, great view and pretty fun.

Do you have transport or are you rolling your bike everywhere. There is a SS ride every Tuesday at Rowlett Creek Preserve followed by much imbibing. I'd be willing to bet that you could hitch a ride out there if needed. The details are always posted on DirtDawgs.

I'll check out dirtdawgs....I've been lurking on DORBA, but figured there's been too much rain for rides.

I have a car and can get most places in Dallas without getting too lost.

I've been riding road at WRL, that's a fun little romp.

I've been riding road around the Mckinney area with a couple of people if you want to jump in. We work a compressed shift so we ride during the week most of the time. If you post your e=mail I can ask to have you put on the mailing list.

i ride road and dirt in dallas. i live on the northeast side of 635 and Dallas North Tollway. i've done the whiterock ride a few times but also do a tuesday night ride that leaves from REI at 6:30.

email me if you want more details or info about other rides. i'd be happy to meet up with you and ride, road or dirt (once it dries out a little).
