Starting April 8th the Tuesday night Dam Loop will resume. Meet at (now closed) Cycle 360, wheels down at 6:00pm. Avg speed for this ride has been 18-20+mph, depends on who shows up. There has been some interest in forming a "B" group for those who want a good ride but, aren't interested in a "Hammerfest"

something tells me kracer is going to try and lay the smack down since he's gotten such little racing action this year (probably cuz he's skeerd).

Cool ride - I did this once or twice last year and had a blast. Good group pace up to the climb out from the dam, then the hammer drops and the group shatters...
I'm going to try to make it to more of these this year.

The B group, when it happened, consisted of me starting about 10 minutes before 6, the group catching me between Cuernavaca and 71, and then me picking up the stragglers as the group disintegrates. ;) :D
I won't be doing it this year unless my work schedule changes.

Traube and some other regulars have been saying that they haven't been riding therefore, outta shape! riiigghhtt! Probably be one of the fastest rides yet. What we'd avg the first one last year..21+?

Yeah, I'm just crazy and I love my bike so I think I might show up for this after doing Uppity Crust that morning. So... if anyone wants a "B" group, just ride with me!!! :D

I speak before I think (therefore I am)... I am doing Reimer's day tomorrow, but count me in for the dam loop in Tuesdays to come. And it would be awfully nice not to be the only girl!! ;)

hmmm I could ride like a girl ...
is this ride still on with the 30+ mph wind gusts? I hope so, but if not maybe we can do an mtb ride instead.

I have my road bike with me, but I could be talked into swapping out for the mtb instead. Of course, 30 mph winds would make the dam loop really interesting...
let's stick with the road ride, it'll be easier than trying to change up at the last minute.

Good ride. A little windy, and I could live without the errant sprinklers and mondo roadside trash, but otherwise, it was great.

Yeah, it was a good start. Really wish we could do something to get the city to sweep the shoulder on Bee Caves..

Single paceline works better than double on that shoulder right now. Single pacelines aren't as much fun, though.
There's a route ACA ran in the same area a couple of weeks ago that looks pretty interesting. You turn off Bee Caves onto Barton Creek Blvd, cross over SW Parkway and turn onto some rural road. That road will take you across 71 and out through the countryside, exiting onto Hamilton Pool road. Should be similar distance and elevation change, but less traffic. May be worth checking out one of these days.

I've seen that route published somewhere. It might be one of the routes that Lance used to train.

I think i know the route you're talking about, goes out to fitzhugh, then back to bee caves, via hamilton poole rd.
