MAY MEETING: The May meeting will be held at OTTO'S BBQ on Memorial Drive between Westcott and
Detering Streets (east of Memorial Park). The meeting will be on May 5th starting at 7:00
p.m. We have reserved the back room, which will seat approximately 100 people (we were
outgrowing the JAX location), and will continue to meet there through the end of the year.
Never been to a meeting? Consider riding at the park beforehand and then joining us for dinner
and the meeting afterwards. FYI: Otto's also offers hamburgers in another area of the
restaurant if you're not a BBQ fan.

MEMORIAL PARK MASTER PLAN: The final public meeting on the
Memorial Park Master Plan is on Monday, April 28th starting at 6:30 until 9:00 p.m. The
meeting is located at the Catholic church across from the golf pro shop at Memorial Park.
GHORBA's preliminary review of the proposal looks favorable with the existing trails remaining
basically unchanged and! future trails planned for the area called The Triangle, which is west
of the railroad tracks and north of Woodway. Please make plans to attend this meeting and
share your thoughts with the consultants. This is our last opportunity to provide input into
the plan before it is presented to the Houston Park Board and City Council for final approval.

JACK BROOKS TRAIL WORK PARTY: There will be another work party this coming Sunday, the 27th at
Jack Brooks Park. The work party starts at 11:00 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m. Conversations
with Park officials have been very favorable with additional materials being given to us for
further improvement of the trails. Signage to help limit horse and ATV access to the MTB-only
trails have also been approved. More info: focuz@ev1.net.
