View Full Version : Good ride
Green mountain ,evans 3009, batcave 3009 schoenthal .find your way to New Braunsfels and back again.
The headwinds where murderous today, it's great training in the big-ring. It was mighty cold though. A few good hills ,yet nothing really long and you must try krueger canyon road. We hit 45 and on the twisty stuff too boot! Kind of like mtbing on asphault. Watch for dogs in new braunsfel though. Just scream like hell at 'em. metric century.

Man buddy, wish I coulda made it out with you today. Unfortunately I'm still having bronchialcedarfeveritis. I better stay off the bike(s) for a few days and try to clear this up. It's getting mighty old...
I got out and rode that Helotes loop Sunday. It wasn't mountainbiking which really sucks when your riding around what was and will be premier riding spots in S.A. Anyways it's a good loop and those hills aren't any worse than the stuff we've been doing. No wind either!
It was a beauty day and I thought seriously about doing that ride on the road bike, but with limited time and higher priorities had to compromise. Got about 16 miles in on the mtb trying out my new Speedplay Frog pedals before Flat Rock. Rode some mild road hills, then went through Mainland on the power line trail, then down Mainland Dr. to Leon Creek, riding off-pavement wherever possible. The ride got interesting approaching the creek near Bandera Rd. I got clotheslined at chest level by a steel cable fence that I never saw because of the background color contrast and sun angle... and I was looking (my bad). Luckily, I wasn't going fast enough to get too hurt, but it did throw me and the bike down pretty good. The rest of the ride amounted to huffing and puffing my way back home. I think I'm going to like those frogs.
That hadda hurt. I'm glad your alright. Jim and I are planning to ride Monday at 9:00 a.m. , Jim?

You betcha!!
I met Willie this Saturday at Flatrock. He expressed interest in Joining us on Monday morning for our roadride. He has to drop his kid off at ATSA at 9 and says he'll swing on over to the Helotes area to meet us. My suggestion is doing the Helotes 22 mile loop. Meeting at the Albertsons at 16 and 1604. Sound Good? Willie?

How fast of a pace do y'all keep on the ride?
I am going to be skipping work tomorrow in order to get some stuff done at home but am thinking about a morning ride first.
No drops, you or us. Hope you can make it.

Sounds good to me, I'll be there too.
-Dammit, I am just informed to expect a delivery here at the house around 9:30 this AM so I am going to have to back out.
Have a safe but good ride (I am gonna be super pissed if these jokers are late and don't show up until after noon   )
Sorry you missed it George. We double our roadies today . Aaron on his mtb , Willie Jim and I had some good fun . We broke 40 a couple times. I'm gonna get that speeding ticket one of these days.:D
Thanks Y'all for a great ride.

But did the frogs let you go in this crash?
