Originally from the 2001 RockShox SID XC Owners Manual
SID XC's can be configured to 63 or 80 mm of travel. For the 63 mm travel configuration, install the All Travel Spacer into the extended travel system (ETS) spring on the damper shaft. Configure the negative spring shaft with the circumference line oriented towards the air piston. For 80 mm of travel, remove the All Travel Spacer from the damper shaft and orient the circumference line on the negative air shaft towards the shaft bolt

Basically this little 'All Travel Spacer' must be shifted from the bottom to the top?

I gotta figure this shock out before it kills me. Currently it is squishy (as opposed to Zoch plush).

And it has slowed the steering greatly. Yesterday I went left around a tree while the bike refused to come with me. It wanted to stay right (too slow). Very painful

Also the 80 mm of travel is scary when you go over a good drop and you get the 'full travel'. I kept waiting to go over the bars.

I am hoping that by switching to 63 mm it will help this fork. Currently a dead Zoch tracks better than this thing, no lie.

JTC's going through the same thing, he went with a Marzocchi that has 100mm of travel, it's kinda like riding a chopper bike if you remember making those! You know, the whole welding of the second set of forks on the end of the first.. That was sweeeeeet!

got the e-mail.

flip the dump rod in the left lag up side down and then add the all travel spacer on the right leg, to the underside of the damper top out spring.

one VERY iportant thing you'll need to before pulling the fork apart, is buying a bottle of either Rock Shox Red Rum fork oil OR Finish Line's 15 wt. fork oil....i think that one is a light blue color. anyway, whatever you get, it needs to be 15 wt.

i think, ideal travel for XC racing is about 30mm. why they gotta put so much?

ya crashed?

you're right on the 80mm. at SA Ranch 80mm was waaaay scary. even with the spring kit of a 200lb+ rider.

when's the zoke coming back?
