Kathy at SCCC wanted us to do a race this fall. I have us down for Oct. 12, and doing it at the new canyon lake trail. I have already started talking to the guys from NB, and they are going to help us out ALOT. I rode the trail yesterday, its about 6 miles but slow and technical. One more section needs to be cut to make a complete loop, but we can do without. We still have to get permission from Canyon Lake so its not a sure thing for sure. More info to come.

lets just hope we get the permission out at CL., otherwise we will have to find another spot. The 12th is not a TMBRA race so it should be hard.

Did you mean shouldn't?
Still haven't been out there. Maybe I can make it out in the next couple weeks.

That date works better for me. I should be able to volunteer with the rest of the NB folks.

SWEET!
I know I've said this before, but I think we should have an Alumnus class.

You could try a hand at a collegiate or USCF race, with real people, riding together, and then re-evaluate "slow". Think Mario Cipollini without referees on motorcycles.

Let's keep an eye out for race preparations, especially now that most of us aren't too busy (not busy at all with school :D) and make some headway.
This is your chance to delegate, Andy. Gimme something to do.
I haven't been to Canyon lake yet. Anyone interested in going out there Friday 8/22 during the day? I'd like to go out there some time in the morning - be back in Austin by about 4:00. Hopefully someone that's been there can join. :D Whose been out?

I am still waiting on the OK from the canyon lake bosses. If you want to, check out other courses for other possibilites if CL doesnt come thru.

I'll check out RHR. If neither of those work, maybe we should do some work out at UCAMP to make it race-able. If we could map out a tamer loop for the beginners and lengthen it out a bit for A and B races (with multiple laps, of course).
Another option could be to have a TT out there. I think that would be totally sweet. I'm sure THAT would get Ben out to a race! Setup for a TT would be easy, and riders won't have to worry about passing. Think we could charge an extra entry fee for that if we held it after a XC race at Canyon lake?
Juct kicking it around... what do you think?
