September 20th the Corps of Engineers at Canyon Lake will be hosting National Public Lands Appreciation Day. The Camino Real Cycling Club will be one of the organizations taking part in this event and will responsible for getting trail work done on the Madrone Trail. The priority being to complete a loop so that this is no longer an out-and-back trail. For those of you who haven't been out there before or haven't been there in a while, this trail looking good and is riding in well. We need some help to make better. This is a great opportunity to help out the local trails and to get some PAYDIRT hours in. Tentative schedule will be to work from 8:00 to 12:00 and then to have lunch provided by the Corps. I'm sure we'll ride afterwards. We need to get a head count for lunch so if you're interested get in touch with Park Ranger Christy Blanar at the Corps of Engineers office: Christy.D.Blanar@swf02.usace.army.mil or by phone at 830-964-3341. Let her know that you're interested in working on the Madrone trail.
