City Park and Muleshoe Bend are the two trails around here that handle water the best.
You're in town? You should try and make the City Park Time Trial on Saturday...

So will Walnut Creek be rideable tonight? Is there a number to call? Does the trail actually close down after a rain?

There's no hotline for Walnut Creek and no way to close off the trails with all the access points so use a little common sense and stay off the wet stuff. :)
There's probably still a few really wet spots out there. It rained pretty hard tues. night & we didn't get much sun yesterday. The 2 loops on either side of the main park road between Lamar & the bridge tend to stay wet the longest. If you do ride I'd avoid them.
It should be in good shape by tomorrow evening/sat morn.

Thanks for the info. I've only been out on my bike 1 time, so I am definitely not looking to ride in ANY mud. Plus, I am not proficent in gettin out of my pedals yet and I prefer to fall on dry land!

You might not get too muddy riding the GB, but you'll definitely get wet if you intend to put in some mileage!:p

u know......i hate 2 b a stick n the mud (no pun), but if u-r riding & u encounter mud, u-r really supposed 2 ride through it instead of making the trail wider by riding around it. That is the singletrack rule. U can also ride slower as 2 make less of an impact. Or walk. Every situation/trail is different.
Use good judgement & commen sense.
