A few of us have been discussing beginning organized road rides on the weekends. The prevailing opinion seems to be that the Saturday "shop" rides serve a valuable function for those interested in longer, more strenuous rides, and we are not interested in intruding upon those and altering their basic pattern. But, for those of us who may want to ride 20 - 30 miles at a pace in the mid-teens, the shop ride is too much.
Last Saturday, four of us (myself, Jimmy, Sam, and Vanessa) rode from Waco dam in the China Spring area. We left at 9:00 and did 26 miles in about 2 hours. We are trying to determine if there is sufficient interest in such rides to continue them. We already have our Thursday evening rides from the Hewitt area, and felt that to change things, these rides might be better done on the north side of the town.
Is anyone else interested?
If so, which is better — Saturday morning, Saturday afternoon, Sunday afternoon?
Is the airport/China Spring area a good location for these rides?
