Here is advanced notice..........................

For all of you women who go with your man to the races....................
or for women who go out to the races and do not wanna race.

In putting the STORM CHicKs program together,
we had a suggestion to provide a ride for women who attend races with their husbands, boyfriends, significant others............etc...... and other women who just want to come out to ride the race courses and see what they are like.

So here we go....................
We will have a STORM CHicKs ride on Saturday, February 14, 2004 at Rocky Hill Ranch in Smithville, Texas.
Meet in front of the saloon at 10:00.
This will be a beginner, NO DROP ride.
We will ride at a pace that is decided by the group.
No one will get left behind.

Sandy DeLeon will be the ride leader.
PM fishergirl or e-mail Sandy at onextremegrl@sbcglobal.net if you are interested in attending or want more information. We can caravan from San Antonio or you guys can meet us up there.

"Ride may be cancelled in the event of rain. We do not want to tear up the trails. Cancellation will be posted no later than 7am on Saturday the 14th."

Sure will try to be there even though I will not be accompanying a racer. There is a chance I might be off skiing. . . .

By the way, surely did enjoy the ride at Comfort! Glad I took you up on that one.

Just checked weather.com and spoke with a friend of mine in Bastrop.

It rained Wednesday and drizzled on and off on Thursday.
The forcast on Friday is a 50% chance of precipitation.
The forcast on Saturday is 60% chance of preciptation with temps in the am at or close to freezing.

It is not looking good for our ride. I don't want to take the change of us driving out there in dangerous conditions. Not to mention riding in the mud.
I will post a final decision on Friday evening, but at this point, it does not look good.If we do have to cancel, I will reschedule this ride as soon as possible because I know there was a great deal of interest.

I just called Rocky Hill. :(

It is not good news. It was sleeting this morning and has been raining and drizzling all day today. The trails are wet with standing water in some areas.
More drizzle and sleet are predicted for tonight and tomorrow morning. From the looks of the weather, it looks like trail conditions will make for a miserable ride. :( Not to mention that the driving up there in the morning will be dangerous.

I hate to do this....................but I am going to cancel the ride.
I will try to reschedule sometime within the next month.

There is a STORM CHicKs ride on the 21st at Flat Rock at 2pm
Hopefully the weather will be good then.
