I have a friend who's looking for an inexpensive Mtn bike. He's about six foot tall.

By inexpensive, I mean inexpensive. He's got a wife and a kid and a mortgage, and I really want him to be able to go riding with me and some friends. Just something that he can use to ride down at Zilker or whatever. If you know anyone who's got something, let me know. I can fix it up, if needed.
Are the pawn shops OK places to look, or do they just usually have junk?

Thanks,

J / 853

How much is he looking to spend? I'm looking at selling my hardtail soon, and getting a full suspension.

Probably $150-200.

Just let me know. PM me or whatever if you need to.

Thanks, Chimp. I may call him, but unfortunately, $200 is the upper limit of what this guy can spend due to aforementioned variables, but if you think he'd let it go for that, let me know.

Much appreciated.

Sorry, can't go that low. Spent more than that on upgrades in the last 2 months. But if I hear of anything else I'll let you know.

I saw an all ridged 92 performance MTN Bike advertised in the Austin360.com classifieds for 99.00. it’s worth a look. I ride an all ridged Performance M305 right now and it’s tough. Works good, lasts long time. At least till I have the $ in July to upgrade. I’m thinking Giant Rainer. I too have a wife and kids.

Happy hunting,
Cael
