Thanks to Scott Gibbons and REI, the Austin Ridge Riders are being awarded two grants. The first one $200, which is designated to go toward a kiosk for WC. The reason there's no kiosk at WC yet is that the city has to buy it, and paperwork has to be completed to receive money from a non-group. I think that's the hold up.
The second grant is worth up to $2000 and was written by Scott and myself to get money for tools. I now have to write the cover sheet and budget and go into more detail. Then this has to be approved.
I will soon start working on a grant request to submit to the Home Depot Foundation. If anyone is interested in writing or helping to write a grant request, please let me know.
Lastly, we're applying for some federal money from the RTP (Recreational Trails Program) to apply to new trail at McKinney Falls. I asked for help in the ARR meeting last night, and a new member named Judi stepped up to do it. She has a deadline of June 1, so it's going to be tight.
