well, did a 12 hour race this weekend. it was great! there were several mojomofos there. it was a great experience, except for the crippling cramps, and lack of sleep. our team name was, of course, bikemojo.com!

unfortunatley, due to a mistake done by a volunteer at the race, we had to scratch in the final hour and a half of the race. we were so close, yet so far. she plugged in fernando's battery to a dead outlet and could not charge. the average charging time was about 1 hour. i was just finishing my lap, could not give him my battery, and our other battries were still charging. after discussing the presenting problem, we decided to drop out, no way to keep in contention.

props goes out to all the guys and gals that did the race solo. all 12 hours solo. some did not have team suuprt staff. way to go buds.

funnies: within the first hour, a deer was hit, a child was hit, and a basset hound was hit. in my first lap, i hit a rabbit with my front tire and saw it spin away in the air. not sure if it died, but do know i basshed it's head pretty bad. on my second run, about 2am or so, i was sleepy, tired, and had some meds in me; i thought i was being chased by the rabbits family. what a trip!

can't wait to do it again!

overall, it was a great experience, and it was differnt from any other type of riding or racing i have done! i highly recommend all of you to either race or go for support on these endurance races. they kick ass.

12 hour race was epic. It was good to see everybody out.

Moe and Dickerson kicked ass. 11 laps!

Ashley, the aussie we met at comfort on memorial day weekend, showed up and went solo, 8 laps, simply awesome.

Well, now that Ive done 12 hours of Warda, I'm jumping in the Ranger to do 12 hours of interstate hiway.

Going to St. louis for a week, then over to Durango for a week.

See you fools in a couple weeks.

P.S. i almost ran over the Beagle as well!

PPS, get those injuries healed for 12 hours of discomfort, Chief!

Our team got 4th place in the 4 man.

I was the last rider out for my team and was passed for position with about 2 miles left, I stuck on the guys rear and was able to pass him with a sprint finish 10 feet before the line - had to be one of my favorite moments on a bike.

Cool schwag and a very cool plaque, most of the trail was fun at night (not the long, bumpy, boring mile they added in the oil pump meadow). Went over the bars at the bottom of "Oh Sh*t" on my second lap, lost my lights with 2 miles left on my first lap (made my way in holding my back up light in my hand, it had come loose off the bar earlier), great team mates and even a mechanic from our shop half the night. Good Sunday on the couch in and out of consciousness.

Kudos to all the SA folk - Moe and Robert were phenomenal.

Sorry I couldn't go for support, BUT..... I should have given you a tray of lima beans!

That's OK, Alan, some folks are just slow to heed your advice. Besides, it's hard to tell doctors anything.

thanks for the thought buddy! my roommate made a lima bean dish, but did not have enough lima beans. fernando's wife, veronica, helped me strech and rub out the cramps. funny thing, i heard several moans and cries of pain throughout the night. keith made a lima bean casserole modeled afterr yours. his team was not hurting, but were tired!
