Thanks for the headset press tips. Got another for you: I'm needing a race setter for a carbon fork 1 1/8". I've been looking at the ones that Park makes et al, and figure I can make something just as good but way cheaper. Here's what I've been thinkin about trying:
1) Getting a 1 1/8 isd steel pipe, longer han the forks steerer and two washers to put at the bottom of the pipe between the race (as not to mar the race).
2) Getting a pipe with a little bit larger diameter and sure various washers to offset different sizes of steerer tubes.
Basically, what I've seen, a race setter is nothing more than a slide hammer (albeit a little more simple). Would this type of improvising work, or should I just take it to a shop/buy the tools and do it right? I don't know how many more headsets I'll intsall, that's why I've been holding off on the buying the tool.
