Just heard a promo for Fox 7 Sunday news...looks like they're going to do a story on the Texas 4000. Couldn't find any more info on the website.

yep, sunday...."somewhere between 9 and 10pm" as we were told. got an e-mail from the guy who did the editing. pretty cool stuff....
Hello all.
You don't know me, but I feel like I know many of you. My name is Chip
Walton, I produce the Texas Tales segments for Fox 7, of which you all are
the focus this Sunday. It will air sometime in the 9pm show (9 - 10pm). It
usually hits sometime around 9:30pm, but could be a little earlier or later.
I kept up with you all while you were gone via Texas4000.org and loved
reading your entries and seeing your pictures. I don't know if Chris Condit
has told you but because of my dedication to your cause, Fox 7 was the only
station to update your weekly progress as you made your way towards AK. Now
we are going to bring your story (video and all) to Central Texas. I
usually just produce these stories and hand over the footage to a
photographer to edit, but not this time! I felt too connected to this
story, so I edited it myself. I just finished (2am, Aug. 26) after 7
straight hours in an edit bay. The story is that important to me. It's all
I've thought of for the last week. Now I can finally sleep!
Consider it a gift from me to you. You all did so much for many other
people, I thought someone owed a little something back to you.
I am truly and forever in debt to Skip Hobbie. Without him, this story
would be one minute of Chris and Laura soundbites with the same map over and
over. Thanks to Skip's hour upon hours of video, this story is now a
four-minute slice of heaven. It rocks, moves, climbs, laughs and hopefully
teaches Austin what a rad group of kids represented Texas across the
continent.
So the vitals, once again: Texas Tales - Texas 4000, this Sunday, Aug.
29th.. sometime during the 9pm newscast, probably after 9:30pm. Tell your
friends and fam. Please, feel free to e-mail me your comments afterwards.

I also wrote a song about y'all. I attached the words. It's very eastern
and desert-sounding, much like Josh Homme's Desert Sessions acoustic stuff.
Hope to sing it to you all one day. You should hear it live if ever
possible. I'll keep Chris posted on my gigs.
To each and every one of you: Take care. Keep pedaling.

I just saw the Fox 7 report...pretty inspiring stuff. Congrats on such an accomplishment!
Now, it makes perfect sense that you're going through an emotional transition after finishing something like that... the ups and downs of normal everyday life may seem a little less acute for a while. Relish in the calm for a bit and then seek out the next extreme. :)

Skip's footage came out very nice. i believe he shot 100hrs of film, and has to compress that all down to 1.5hrs.
