5th Annual Rainy Season Race Series!

Its that time of the year again! Yep, its the 5th Annual Rainy Season Race Series!

Series Info:
This series is a four day, five stage mt bike race taking place on the road and also the Two Lovers Point Trail. This is because the "red dirt" is not ridable this time of the year.

Dates / Stages:

STAGE 1: Sunday September 19th - Mt Alutom Hill Climb Race
STAGE 2: Sunday September 26th - Two Lovers Point XC Race
STAGE 3: Sunday October 3rd - Ritidian Point Hill Climb Race
STAGE 4: Sunday October 3rd - Ritidian Point Time Trial
STAGE 5: Sunday October 10th - Downtown Hagatna Criterium

The shirts and trophies will be handed out after the final stage. We are also planning a potluck that afternoon!

Applications will be available by next week (Monday Sept13th).

More specific emails regarding each stage will be provided the week before.

ALSO - If you are interested in helping out the series, please let me know!!! We can always use the extra help!!

The 5th Annual HTB Rainy Season Race Series begins on Sunday September 19th. Only Mountain Bikes are used for this race series! Below are the dates and details of the race series:

HTB RAINY SEASON RACE SERIES

RACE DATES:
Sunday Sept 19 - Stage 1: Mt Alutom Hill Climb
Sunday Sept 26 - Stage 2: Two Lovers Point XC Race
Sunday Oct 3 - Stage 3: Ritidian Point Hill Climb & Stage 4: Ritidian Point Time Trial
Sunday Oct 10 - Stage 5: Downtown Hagatna Criterium

REGISTRATION:
Sign up at Hornet Sporting Goods and MTB Outfitters. Or you can sign up at race day. Applications will be available this weekend.

COST:
The series costs $15. This means all the races or only one race costs $15! Bargain huh?!!?
Your 15 bucks gets you five races, a race number, a cool event shirt, and trophies for top 3 division winners. Event shirts will be available at Stage 5 on October 10th.


AGE DIVISIONS (and weight - ha!):
Junior Girls (12 - 17 yrs)
Womens Open (18 - 34 yrs)
Golden Girls (>34 yrs)
Junior Boys (12 - 17 yrs)
Mens Open (18 - 29 yrs)
Mens Submasters (30 - 39 yrs)
Mens Jedi Masters (>39 yrs)
Caribou Division (>210 lbs)

NOTE: The division you enter on the first race (Sept 19) will be the division you will stay in for the series if you have a birthday during the series that would place you in a higher age group.

MEETING / RACE START TIMES:
All meeting times are 630am and all races begin at 730am.

STAGE RACE DETAILS:
Additional details for all the races will be emailed within the week of the event. This will tell you about each particular stage. Details such as meeting area, laps, distances, finish lines, etc.

STAGE 1 - MT ALUTOM HILL CLIMB / Sept 19th
Meeting area: Piti, along the road near the Veterans Cemetary.
Course: Start at the Piti Veterans Cemetary on Marine Drive, Piti and climb all the way to the antennas on Mt. Alutom.

STAGE 2 - TWO LOVERS TRAIL XC RACE / Sept 26th
Meeting area: Towards cliff line overlooking Tumon. Enter the road across the Micronesian mall and then turn left at the next road. Head towards the cliffline.
Course: The course is a shortened version of the Two Lovers Point Bike/Hike Trail. Due to extensive vegetative growth, we are cutting the course by half. Once you hit the road towards Tanguissan Beach, we will turn right on the road and proceed towards the start. We will then turn left towards the sewage pump station and connect back onto the trail. We will do 3 laps.

STAGE 3 - RITIDIAN POINT HILL CLIMB / Oct 3rd
Meeting area: Go towards the Ritidian Point Park. We will meet at the top of the hill just before the road drops down to the park.

Course: Begin at the park or the park gate and climb to the top!

STAGE 4 - RITIDIAN TIME TRIAL / Oct 3rd
Immediately after the hill climb, we begin the time trial race.
Course: Approximately 9-10 mile flat course along road towards Ritidian Point.

STAGE 5 - DOWNTOWN HAGATNA CRITERIUM / Oct 10th
Meeting area: Near Bank of Guam, Anigua. Near Julale Shopping Center.
Course: Four laps around figure 8 loop in downtown Hagatna. Each lap is only 0.6 miles. Very short laps. Each division will have their own heat.
