A few months ago, I went home and found out that my dad decided to turn my old room into a guest room. :( I decide to donate my belongins rather than just take them to the dump. We go there, and then have to pull up to the back of the 2nd hand store. Lo and behold, what do I find?? An old Schwinn Cruiser! I put this in the back of the truck when I found out they were going to throw it away.

Okay, fast forward to now. I've got the whole bike disassemebled. I'm going to do a complete rebuild of the bike. I'm about to send the frame & fork to get powder coated (going to use a shop in CO that I've been talking to, unless ya'll know someone in TX).

Right now, I'm rebuilding the hubs. Front and rear, and will be trying to reuse the original rims. Anyone know where I can get 27" rims? There's not much to these old, single-speed bikes. Most of what I've encountered is parts being hard to find. I'll try to get before, during, and after pictures up as I go.

Schwinn/GTs distributor (Riteway or GT/Riteway) carried soem of the older Schwinn (tires).

just call up pacific cycle and see if Riteway is still around. maybe they got parts OR they can tell you where they sent them to.

it's either 1-888-gtbikes or 1-800-gtbikes
