HI there,

Moved to Waco about 3mos ago, don't know a soul here, and none of the kids that I go to school with ride. I live 4 miles from Cameron park and like to ride from my house to the park about 3-4 times a week, or more. I ride a hoo koo e koo single speed. Looking for other crazy single speeders to ride with - Ryan

I don't have a SS -- a 1x9 is as close as I get.

I do ride most Thursday mornings starting around 9:30 to 10.

Ryan - Meet us at 1:15 today at the gravel parking lot at the entrance to the river trail next to the steep stairs (Jacob's Ladder I think?). If you can't find us call the number I posted. See you out there.

how do you like you 1x9?

I need to be finished by noon tomorrow. Plus, the 1x9 needs some work before I can ride it. I think you would get bored waiting for me riding my big bike (http://www.bikemojo.com/photos/showphoto.php?photo=1636&size=big&password=f61fd82742aef8afe942b26648791aee&sort=1&cat=500).

I usually post up the Thursday ride here (http://www.bikemojo.com/speak/showthread.php?p=464513#post464513), but it seems to rain every Thursday. Shouldn't be any problem most weeks to ride later.

how do you like you 1x9?

All I really need for Cameron and most of Texas. I run a 32 front with a 12x34 in the rear on my HT. Didn't work very well for the big bike because I usually stand to climb, and it bobbed way too much to be efficient. I'm more of a spinner so the SS thing doesn't work well for me out there.

Tyler is best enjoyed with one f'ing gear!

What gearing do you run in Cameron. I've never had enough nerve to take my SS down there since I usually just run 2:1.

I run a 33x18, and my out of shape ass has a hard time -

Wow, how a trail changes in a measly eight years.

I liked my gears just fine yesterday.

Fun little trip out there. I personally prefer the place when it is cold and damp.

The last climb to the parking lot at 2:1 is a bit painful on lap 2. ;)

when I first got on my bike at Tyler last week that is the first thing that I thought of....how chilly it was the last time I rode there, like back in '96 when I was racing....brought back some memories..I rode without stopping(33x16), and that last long climb next to the rode back to the trailhead is mighty fun on a SS. Same with those switchbacks on loop c and d..roots and roots, and did I say roots...but you can seriously haul ass on the downhills and rail the corners like it is nobodys business..they do a good job at making the corners fun....how bout those little log jumps that they built-on loop b...LETS GO RIDE DAMMIT! i'm tired of talking, need some ridin' :freek:

I can't go fast enough to make those jumps. They are skinnies to wheelie drop off of. I was too tire for that even.

baylor race is on sunday... after like 12 it wouldn't be too good of an idea to be in the park less you get hit by speedy people...

So Baylor owns the park??? I haven't seen anything about it being closed.

*wait - I checked and the race starts at 1. I may really plan to ride there. Maybe I can ride some of the trails from Lover's Leap that you girls won't be racing.

yo- I'd race in this thing if I could, and I want to . Googe is checking on it, but I doubt it. I go to TSTC, and both my parents are Baylor alumni(pops is a guest speaker) so what do you think, let me race!! I'll get my ass handed to me cause I'm ridin my single speed, but I'll try hard as hell to kick som arse, especially if they have TAMU on their jersey. UMM...the smell of fresh cleanly shaven college legs in the morning on our trails....kinda like fresh penoche ready to get pounded on the home turf...........excuse me ladies.. :D
