700 acres/ golf course could be fun!!!!!!!!

Many people seem to have been scared away from 700 due to horror stories of urban development in the area. Today a group of us rode some of the old trails that have been neglected and were very excited to see that the majority of the South Creek Trail is still there with a wonderful surprise at the end. The trail now leads directly to the cement golf cart trails on the east side of the creek. Looks very promising for moonlight night rides in the fall. Thanks to Alan, Carlos and others, the north side of 700 now has some of the most technical trails in San Antonio and quads have opened up some very fast sweeping trails for our enjoyment. I have only once seen these motorized vehicle actually on the trails so they pose no danger to mountain bikers. For those of you that have not been to 700 acres for a while, I personally extend an invitation to join us on Tuesdays @ 6:30 or almost any Sunday @ 9:00 a.m. for a ride that will leave you smiling as you drive away!!!!!!!!

in a previous post regarding 700, i posted after riding there for the first time since last summer. i was devasted at its new facelift. i was extremely discouraged and allowed my emotions to take the better of me and bring me down. now, after some relaxation methods (beer drinking) and hearing of and seeing the great work being done by all at 700, i have renewed interest in 700. i have begun to tell people i meet about 700 and encouraged them to do the tue night ride.

kudos to carlos and alan for keeping 700 alive and well!!!

Yes! The Creek trail is still (mostly) there. And it is relatively easy to get to (if you don't mind riding on a golf course hehehehe)
