trying to loosen crank bolts? everytime i go to clean the ol' drivetrain, the little boogers are damn near impossible to get off. i even torque them to 35.....argh....

just replaced the 3rd bearing on the rear wheel hub...the one that i put in this summer had already developed play AND the dang thing popped out when i set the wheel on my floor.

you'll need a wad of grease the size of a small grape. yeah, that much.

crank bolts need lots of grease.

were these the stock bearings from the hub or new bearings?

new bearing. had what appeared to be rust on the outer area that was in conctact the the hub. you know what, though? a week ago i took my wheels to Bicycle Sport Shop to be trued, and when i was re-mounting them, i noticed that bearing was exposed about 2mm....

thye may have not properly nightened the lock nuts.

whne you mount the wheel in the frame, iw there play in the hub when you wiggle it side to side?

nope, not anymore. there was, though. remember, my hubs were like hub body, 20mm axle, and cartridge bearings.
