Lance was in NYC on Wed. 9/18 with GW pushing cancer research. News report said he shared birthday cake with the Pres. He turned 31 years old. There are a few guys out there who wear the full Postal kit. One of them was in my Crit. race at the Expo. Center last night too. We were calling him Lance, too. He has been in town recently, though and is probably heading back to Austin right now. During his interview after the SF Gran Prix, he was very much looking forward to the off season being a dad, and riding the mtb!

As for the disclaimer, don't fear "the dark side". Its all good. I started as a mountain biker, but now actually spend more time on the road than the trail. As far as fitness goes, road riding allows greater variation in training zones compared to mountain biking. Its also easier on the body. Group rides are expecially fun too. Get in the draft and cruise at 20mph with very little effort. Last night our crit. averaged 22.3 mph - talk about fun (in a painful kind of way.):D
