Starting in October, Spin City Cycling will offer 2 varieties of the Park Tool School. The Novice class will consist of three 2-hour classes on 10/4, 10/11, and 10/18 and will cover basic maintenance and upkeep. The Intermediate class will consist of 4-5 2-hour sessions on 10/25, 11/1, 11/8, 11/15, and possibly 11/22. The content of this course will basically be things that would be done during the course of a tune-up.
An advanced class is also a possibility, although there hasn't really been enough interest in this one yet to justify putting a class together. We could also do topic-specific classes (like wheel-building, etc.) so if there's something you're interested in, let us know.
The textbook for the courses will be the Park Big Blue Book of Bicycle Repair and is included in the cost of the course - $90 for Novice, $150 for Intermediate. In addition, students will get a 25% discount on tools during the class and for 30 days following the class.
