So, Warda continues to evolve.

I really like some of the newer trail, and sadly don't care a huge amount for the pasture-based stuff, but the pasture areas will make for better passing opportunities during the races and maybe with a wee bit of work could be made more interesting - who knows?

The whole loop now is just a bit over 6m w/o the back pasture loop, with that loop it'll be a bit over 7m (see map)

The group I rode with Sunday did what I call a Ping-Pong loop - ride the trail forwards, then backwards, w/o truly stopping. Makes for great variety but it is NOT something I would advise with lots of people moving quickly (e.g. a race)!

Damon and friends have sure put in a fair amount of work out there though.

The ladder-stuff off the top of Paydirt Bridge I really like, and is a great alternative view of the ride. I wonder if more of that could be made? Some of it is going to need some more buttressing to insure longevity of the edges, but other than that I think it's pretty solid.

For extra silliness, while I have not yet taken it for a spin, the bike jump into the pond looks to be lots of fun. I was there the day it "opened" and it was certainly bench-tested in solid ways between Jeff and his son. :D

The camping was great as ever, and having a nice fire Friday night to burn three years of tax records, get drunk on good Scotch, and then cook brats and 'mallows made for a very pleasant kickoff to the weekend.

They were understaffed over the weekend, with with The Boy and Amanda off at their mom's, but Damon did an awefully nice job of making me and Maria feel welcome.

I'm sure we'll be back in a couple weeks, Maria and I find it such a great place to go and get "out of our heads" and have a chill time.

And of course, it's a great place to use as a base point for doing big rides that mix trail, dirt, and pavement, for the truly mutant in the head like me. :P
