Ever since my I pulled my buddy off the side of the road after getting hit by a car I swore I'd never ride again without a map both with me and ith someone that could come and get me.

I'm currently on a quest for hills to whip my friends and I into shape for a mountain climbing trip and multiple epic ride season. This means making some trips to Austin.

Where are the maps? In San Antonio we have the S.A. wheelmen , cyclismo and Jimmy Brittons websites to download from. I'm sure Austin has something.

try http://www.austincycling.org/ - they have route maps on some of the rides around Austin. Unfortunately, you have to be a member of ACA to see them, which I'm not. There are also some ride maps at www.bicyclesportshops.com .

Playing around with my map program... here is the route I normally do on weekends.. pretty decent ride. The start/end is my apartment.. so ignore that.. Dell off Parmer is within walking distance, and a good parking/starting point. Some of the turns are kinda incorrect.. like taking Howard.. it appears you go down Dessau, you don't, you just continue accross, and eventually go vere right to Gregg. This is the only bad/crowded area of the ride, rest is farm roads, some might have a few cars, others are 100% empty.

Enjoy.....

Hey - I've done that route a few times! :)

I'm looking for a route from the Round Rock campus. Do you know of anything over there? Is there any way to tie your route over to 1325 or Louis Henna?

Ok, try insanecyclist.com/forKyle.pdf it came out kinda piss poor quality.. but it looks like you could go on Weiss to Kelly, Wilke, Meisier? Schultz and some back roads... put you pretty close to 1325 area.. no idea of what the traffic would be like there..
