Well. Interesting ride. We skipped the KOW and did an airport loop instead.

Ride report:

1. Wet
2. Wet
3. Windy
4. I flat about 7 miles in, almost to Rock Creek. It was some roofing staple, went clean through my tire. I put in my tube, only to have the valve stem break as I'm pumping it up. I take Brandon's only tube.
5. Emilie's stress fractures take their toll. Brandon has to push her around the airport to the dam, where Ryan and I were waiting.
6. Luckily, Josh lives up to his name and shows that he is a stud, driving out there to pick her and her bike up.
6.5 Ryan and I ride back in. It's windy the whole way, and my faith in road biking is shaken once more. I tell myself that it would have been dry and not windy in the woods....
7. Brandon flats on the ride back in. He has no tube since it's now sitting in my bike.
8. Josh drives back out.

So guess who got a flat as well....yep....It was a slow one that I noticed 8 miles out. Made it home with 30psi left...Guess this week just sucks when i comes to flats....Also doing a bike shop run for tubes =P

Forgot to reply, here's the route I take to the shop:


4th Street under I-35
Turn left on Austin
Go a while until you hit 38th (there will be a big gorilla a block before the turn), turn right
Cross Waco Dr.
Turn left onto Sanger (it'll be a weird HUGE intersection in a neighborhood)
Take Sanger across Valley Mills
Turn left on Towne Oaks, shop is on your right.

Heh, it was a joke....we've been pressuring him to come with us to at least race on Sunday. I have no idea whether or not he's going.

I can do some road rides next week probably. My mountain bike is in timeout.

Wow, Bui, this is impressive, it appears I don't even need to respond...but actually I am contemplating skipping the time trial, driving down for the crit and staying for the road race...Which would mean I could ride as long as I could be on the road by 11:30 tomorrow...

Do we have any girls riding the crit on saturday?

And I'm on good terms with my road bike now (after I discovered yet another flat yesterday, I put on the racing tires...now that she's clean too, I don't think she'll act up anymore).

i used to race...fun times. i remember a race up in wichita falls...janice's first race and she dropped out. i'll never forget her face as i passed by the club van and she was eating!! and then at the bu race where she was in a lead car and would pass me with the music blaring and laughing while i was fighting an uphill battle with the wind.

Recovery road ride
5:30 pm, Fountain Mall. Nothing too tough since it's windy and I'm a little tired.

Cancel my ride at 5:30 today, weight training took it all out of me. Just ask Brandon :cool:

5:30 is a possibility tomorrow; there's a lecture I wanted to see at 4, I'm not too sure how long it is, but I'll find out and post here if I can go at 5:30.

I just found out that I can get some much-needed extra credit in Weight Training class by going to the TR class....so I'll be busy until 5. Given my record of flats in the last two weeks, I'm going to take the day off and clean both bikes....Friday riding is still a possibility.
