is a route I occasionally do. 27 fairly tough miles--it could be made harder by incorporating Eagles' Nest Loop.

No convenience stores on this rte. 2 bottles and a 50 oz bladder is usually more than adequate.

Just sharing in case there are Killeen area riders or others that might want to ride this some time. Five three five-oh nine six six.

Basically the rte is ws young and stagecoach start. turn right on featherline, turn right on chaparral, turn left on 195, turn left on hwy that goes to Youngsport, turn left on stillhouse lake rd (or do eagles nest first), turn left onto chaparral, turn right onto featherline, turn left on stagecoach to WS Young.

Traffic fairly light but better in a group I'd think.

edit--wow--thank God for the southerly wind--the ride data for weather posted at 93 degree average during the 630-830 PM ride this evening.

Just wanted to let you know that the highway road going to Youngsport is 2484.

I took a 30 mile route from 201, down stagecoach to east trimmer, to chaperal turning left and going down 2410 across the bridge and continue on to 2484 turn right to 195 and right on 195 back down to 201 take a left and then home for me. It is a tough ride, lots of hills.

DDH,

I've taken that route also but in the reverse direction. 201 to 195, west on 2484 through Youngsport, into Heights and back through Chaparral to Trimmier and Stagecoach. Back to 201 to Clear Creek road, then back home. It is a pretty tough ride depending on the wind that day.

Pete,

We should get together some day for another ride. Julie started riding again and maybe she will come out with us.

Jean,

I did that ride (my South (of) Killeen Special) again yesterday afternoon--very hot, actually stopped at the entrance to the lake park after the bridge to rest 5 minutes.

Today Jumper and I rode at BLORA.

Next weekend or the weekend after we might go to cameron park--you have my cel number? 535-09sixsix.

Thanks--we'll try to shoot for one of the next two Sundays then--I'll let you know. Jumper has to go to Corpus this Fri/Sat so might not be back in time for this next weekend--but I know he said he's never been to Cameron.

Hello. How long does this ride take you? I am wondering because I' not as comfortable on my road bike as I am on my MTB and unsure if I could handle the pace.

it is hilly so the speed isn't great--the rte the last two times I have done it took in the neighbor hood just shy of two hours.
