Where are the STORM Chicks?

I'm new to SA and always looking for some girlies to ride with. I've met pangster and enjoy riding with her. Where are the rest of the STORM Chicks?

I moved here from Austin and Ride Like A Girl is huge up there! What do we need to do to get the girls out riding regularly around here? You don't have to race to enjoy riding! Come on SA girlies...let's get out and ride!

What kind of pace are you looking for? I ride with the guys on Tuesdays at MacAllister 6:30 p.m., Wednesdays &/or Thursdays at OP 6:30 p.m., Saturday Government Canyon ride from Sage Cycles at 8:00 a.m.

There are other ladies out there, too - Laura C, Laura M, Yeti Girl (Twee), Denise, Patty - we run into them at OP during the week on Wed/Thurs.

Here's the skinny:

For a number of reasons, my schedule no longer allows for me to be the ride coordinator for STORM ChicKs. The position is open and has been for quite some time. Yetigirl was leading a few for me for a while, but attendance kinda fizzled out on us. Nowadays I just ride when I can, which usually means I decide to ride and then immediately do it (solo). Planning ahead has gone out the window for me these days.

If you or anyone you know want to plan and lead rides, I am more than willing to hook up with you to give you the appropriate passwords to email and MoJo accounts, as well as show you where to get the liability waivers for riders, and offer suggestions on what has and hasn't worked for us in the past.

And never underestimate the power of BiKe MoJo to get rides going...post here or on the Raspa forum if you're one of those planner-aheaders...great way to meet peeps.

Started out all Chicks (Me, Denise, Erika, Stephanie, Patty) but we don't mind a few dudes and we generally ride whatever we are "feeling" that day.

Well, yeah, we sorta do have a Sat AM/GC ride~lol! We on the NW side have been spending a LOT of time at GC because of high gas prices. 9 times out of 10 we meet up @ Parking Lot D at 8:am. Feel free to call/text me @ 789-0131 if you want to join us. We aren't a fast group but mostly we prefer the challenge of the back country.

Sounds great! I am ready to get back on the bike and ride at regular intervals again. My work schedule varies and it's hard for me to commit to set days every week. Having an idea of when everyone is out (and where) helps tons. I'm looking forward to meeting the SA peeps.

The pace I want to ride varies from week to week also :). I'm always willing to ride the pace of the slowest person, and often times it's me setting that pace, so it all works out.

I also need to start getting in some road time before the Bike to the Beach. Road partners needed.

Hey aLaN! Mr adanac is recovering. Tomorrow morning will be his first road ride (off the trainer) since separating his shoulder in May. I hope it goes well. I'm not riding cause I can't hold the pace (even with a cripple :(). Hope to see you guys...and the kiddo...out on the trail soon.

I think that Mac is gonna be out for the week. We are getting an awesome rain in this area that will leave the trail a swamp for days (great for my yard though :)).

I'm looking forward to riding with you guys. According to Dina it makes for a hell of a workout. I just got a new bike and need to work on my endurance so that I can do her justice. Hope to hit the trails with ya soon.

Hey Dina, congrats on that 1st place!! I won't be there tonight, this semester I have Tues and Thurs evening classes (bummer, I know) - but the ride will continue without me! Y'all have fun, and I'll certainly be envious while sitting inside a classroom. I'll definitely be riding Wed evenings, thinking about hitting Comfort a lot (since I work in Boerne, I'm only 15 min from the ranch!), will probably do some road riding on Wed, too.

thanks. that's a bummer that you won't be out there tuesdays. we had a pretty good showing today. Tammie, Clarissa, and myself was there. i'm trying to ride more mac in preparation for huntsville. Sam was saying that yall will be at that race with your two daughters. that's awesome! i'm jealous that you'll get to ride wednesdays @ comfort. i haven't been out there since April. guess, i won't cya until huntsville. have fun @ class

I will be at the park tonight around 6 and would enjoy riding with someone. But, I've only been road riding since I injured my ribs in a crash at the park 4 weeks ago so I might be riding rather cautiously. I hope to be able to ride at least 1.5 hours tonight.

You were right about the trail! I found mud and got off the trail and just rode airport loop. Today should be good. I was planning to be there early before the Friends meeting but a meeting was called at work for 4 that I have to be at. Today may be last time to ride at the park for a while.

Sorry! I didn't mean to scare your friend. I haven't crashed in well over a year. I just wasn't paying attention.... My ribs are almost well. Now if I could only get my nerve back!

I'll be posting the outcome of the meeting on Raspa shortly.
