IMBA is coming to Houston for 10 days in January as part of their Hot Spot program. To complete their visit, GHORBA is putting together a Fat Tire Festival. Events will include a time trial, breakfast, lunch, a poker ride, bike demos, SWAG, a raffle, good beer and a great band. Saint Arnold Brewing on-board with the beer, and we've got a band called Phoebe Effect playing. We're hoping that K2 will donate a great bike for the raffle, too! T-shirts are also being made up and don't look too shabby.

We've reserved the place at Double Lake in the Sam Houston National Forest (near Cleveland about 45 minutes northeast of Houston) with camping available for groups. We really want to make this an awesome event and would love to see people from Dallas, Austin, San Antonio and beyond come hang with us in H-town. And more importantly, come meet and talk to one of IMBA's trail care crews!! Cost will likely be $25-30/person for everything, including breakfast, lunch, and beer with proceeds going to GHORBA and Houston Police Department's Blue Santa (bikes for kids) program. Check out www.mtnbikerider.com/news (click on Fat Tire Festival on the left) to see the preliminary flyer for the event.

NYC, Cleveland OH, San Francisco, and Seattle have already hosted their Hot Spot visits - help us make Houston the best one yet!!!!

Is that you Christina?

This sounds like a blast! I'm planning a NWCC ride on that sunday at Double Lake so this should coincide nicely. Let me know how I can help.
