Starting this Sunday, yes. There may be a good 4 or 5 of us in the 36 to 39 cruiser class. I will have to beat 1 person to qualify for the main. We will see. :D

cool.......I used to race out there a long time ago. Now my 13yo daughter wants to start racing BMX.

She's been doing XC mtb racing for a couple of years.

Matter of fact..when she was just a baby, she would hang with my son and some of my friends while raced.

We plan on going out one of these Sat.'s and getting into it.

Do you know G. Nicely? He used to race out there until he tore his rotator cup. He was in the over 36+ group. He rode a wee bike, not a cruiser though. I think his daughter still races out there.

Nope. I have practiced twice and raced once. Only at it about a month.

ok so I'm still a little undecided between muleshoe and the bmx track on sat but man that sounds like fun.

I have a bunch of errands to do sat so dunno if going all the way out to muleshoe would be prudent.

vuggit, ill go to the bmx track.

See you there! I'll be the bearded blunder on the black GT cruiser wearing my fancy new helmet!

so are y'all going to race, or just fool around/practice? is it an individual type practice thing, or are they "races," just not real races?

Brian B

Sunday.....we race!

J

Inbred,

i am only going to ride laps on Saturday. Please join us, I havent been on a BMX track in almost 20 years.

I am not going to race on Sunday. Just practice on Saturday. I guess its an open track sort of thing, but like Brian B said, you have to have long pants and a long shirt.

Brian, like Inbred says, do we mock race or just ride laps, looking out for other people?

Naw......I'm going to Muleshoe to do trail work. Thinking about going Sunday to spectate though.

You have to wear a helmet but it doesn't have to be a full face. Although, I saw a guy in an open face come off the first jump out there, endo on the back side of it and crush his sinus cavities and break his nose. It wasn't pretty. A full face might have helped some.

Saturdays is prolly open to about anything. If you have a few different chain rings you can ride a lap or two then up size the chain ring by a tooth or two if you spin too much.

If there are enough people to do it, the guy running the place might have a 26" exhibition race. That would be cool. I'd take my Kos out there for that.

Do the T1, inbred dude :)

The more serious types just practice starts then turn off, leaving the rest open for a 26" frenzy. I raced with the open face and nobody laughed openly...that I could see.

853, during practice, people just ride laps. Occasionally, they'll operate the starting gate, but it's still not a mock race. My track stand is a work in progress. It's amazing to see a little kid do a track stand in the gate for a couple of minutes.
