Incorrect, young Clay. The correct answer is "the sound that is produced when you involuntarily void yourself."

So who's up for creating a sticky of license plate numbers and vehicle types that run us off the road? I'm getting tired of the close calls i'm experiancing and the close call stories i hear.
We had an a guy tuesday night, cut us off (near miss of less than 2') going down the hill to the river valley towing a 5th wheel trailer with a bobcat onboard. He then slammed the brakes and threatened to run us over...needless-to-say we called 911 and a lady driving behind us called 911. For the next two hours of riding down there, we never saw a police vehicle on river road. I say we create a sticky of the incidents and post up plate numbers just to create awareness for the local riders.
Steve do you know if by doing creating the sticky, posting up plate numbers, and vehicle types/color, are we breaking any privacy laws?

Privacy, no. Might be a problem if you used the info to find out who they are or where they live. Saw it on Law and Order. Didn't go well when the guy was found dead. I would think carefully about what the goal is, exactly. My suggestion would be to file a report with the police, with a detailed description of the driver. Without that, a license number is not particularly incriminating.

Probably harmless, but there's always the chance that the "offender" could claim that he's being defamed or some such crap. Of course, truth is a defense (to be raised at trial).

I should say that I'm in complete agreement that action should be taken on this issue, but I would like to suggest some alternatives:
Contact your local governmental representatives, specifically your county commissioner and city council member, to insist on more enforcement of existing laws. I too have experienced the complete lack of interest on the part of law enforcement in this regard, and that is where the pressure should be applied. If that is ineffective, then we can try to get the issue on the agenda for a city counsel or commissioner's court meeting. But if we go that route, then someone needs to show up.
There's also the state level, which as you may recall, attempted to address one aspect of cycling safety with the "safe passing" law. It was shot down, or ignored, and I would suggest that if you didn't respond or address the issue with your state representative, when it mattered (like when the Texas Bicycling Coalition asked for your support), then you can assume some of the responsibility.
Finally, there's the construction in our area, which has been the subject of multiple public meetings where input was sought regarding the specifics (such as the need for shoulders). I have repeatedly attempted to inform this group of such meetings, and as far as I'm aware, there's been little interest in such matters.
Just my two cents. Political action is more effective, and empowering, than vigilantism, and less likely to result in you spending a night in jail, in Lycra. We finally have the numbers to do something in this area, but only if we make some noise.
Political action is more effective, and empowering, than vigilantism.......
Few things, in my experience, are more effective or empowering than clandestine vigilantism. BTW - My tongue is not in my cheek.

the results are all out of wack.
Colt, Drew and few others (like 6-7) broke away from the field way early and lapped us. Once I saw that Drew was in good hands and made the break, it was a free ride till they came around again.
the results aren't corrrect but to score something like that must be a nightmare..
Congrats to Colt, Kris, Drew, Jack, and the rest of Team Factory Goodness on a day of representing in all the classes raced!!!!

found this interesting signature....
When it is cold and I know training will be miserable I will find myself thinking: 'What would Tom Boonen do?' The result is I will invariably take the following action:
1. Go to a disco.
2. Turn up the volume on my savage collection of late 1990's Progressive Trance Anthems.
3. Do lines off of the stomach of my 16 year old girlfriend.
So far this year I have not notice the increase in Threshold Power I had been aiming for. But it has been fun.

Something to do for your Sunday morning if you're not picking up trash or riding your bike: Dutch national TV just started the live broadcast of the Amstel Gold Race. It's going to be in Dutch, but no commercials!

I have a story:
Your mother called last night. She was very upset because while driving up Hunter Road about 6:20 last evening she saw YOU way out to the left in the traffic lane. And while you were hugging the centerline, she couldn’t get by.
I told her, “Hold on now, the wind was really blowing out of the south and Sonny-Boy needed to stay in the slipstream”. She wasn’t impressed.
Then I said, “Hold on now, Sonny-Boy has a fragile ego, and, if he gets dropped before getting to York Creek Road, he might just quit the ride and go home”. She still wasn’t impressed.
Then I said, “It’s perfectly legal for a bicycle to be hugging the centerline while doing 30 mph, even if the speed limit is 55. Besides, people driving their cars behind said bikes will NEVER get angry, will NEVER become aggressive, will NEVER hold a grudge against other cyclists they see elsewhere. Her response, “We’ll if that’s all true, then I guess my son is as perfect as ever!”
Moral of the story: if you’re going to be more than a couple of feet to the left of the white line, YOU have a responsibility to be aware of any cars behind you.
This is quite ridiculous that after numerous discussions on having safe rollouts on Hunter Road…all logic goes right out the window because there is a southerly wind and people don’t want to get dropped.
BTW, your mother said you need to clean your room.

I've about heard all I want to hear from my neighbors. Can we please stay to the right, lay off the pace until we get off hunter. That's all it takes. Back off the pace and people will not worry about being dropped. It worked weeks ago when we did it.
