It seems like just yesterday that we were packing up the traffic cones & race signage at the Freiheit Country Store and headed home to watch the Superbowl and get some rest from the hectic weekend of racing in our beautiful backyard riding areas of New Braunfels Tejas.

But it wasn't yesterday, it was almost a year ago and that time is upon us again!

Rob will be getting his volunteer sign-up application running in the next couple of days and the same deal will hold true again this year = we'll pay your entry for your volunteer efforts on each day. Camino Real, Factory Goodness, Murphy's Marauders, ect... everyone that rides the NB area rides is welcome to signup. Without your help, there would be no race.

I was out at the crit course yesterday and it's in much better shape this year than last. I'll be out there the weekend before the race with a push-broom & leaf blower to get the branches and gravel off the road. I'll post up the day and time as we get closer and if we get 4 people out there working on it, we'll get it whipped into shape in an hour or less. It was really only the first mile that needed work, the 2nd mile was in fantastic shape.

The volunteer sign-up sheet is now available. Note, as of the time of this posting, only Saturday's task are listed. Saturday is definitely the more labor-intensive day requiring lead vehicles, follow vehicles and lots of corner marshals.

Like Tobin mentioned, we'll gladly comp your entry fee for the weekend. Simply email me (robert dawt kane at usaa dawt com) or post a reply here with your license number and requested category or class. Alternatively, if you aren't up for racing, we'll pay you $50 for your time.

We've scheduled enough time between the two waves to allow you to both race and volunteer. When you sign up for a volunteer task, keep in mind your racing plans. For instance, if you plan to race the morning wave of races (Cat 3, Cat 4, Women Open, Age 40+), then sign up for an afternoon task.

We will also provide some sort of breakfast and/or lunch. It won't be fancy and it won't be a feast, but it should be enough to keep you going.

While there isn't a separate text box for email address, if you don't mind, please include that in the text box for your name.

Thanks for your help -- We couldn't do it without you. You are the folks that made the TourOfNB an amazing success. As proof, look at the 4 days worth of pre-registrations --- 170 registrants already!

I would like to volunteer, but it is my first non collegiate race and I believe that makes me a Cat 5 so don't know what I should sign up for. I would like to be a corner marshal but the time crunch worries me. If you don't think this would be a problem then I would gladly sign up for the hairiest corner on the course!

You should be back in time.
