OK....common sense tells me what to do most of the time and then it laughs in my face when I fuck up.

I've been running Tioga Comp III 1.75's since they quite making Snake Bellies. Well except for running some Schwinn Maximizers for a while. They were a great tire that only cost $9.99. But Schwinn up'ed the price and then they quit making them. So of course I went back to Tioga's.

Now here is the part where I need advice or new ideas. The 1.75's are a little skinny now for some of the trails I like to ride...WC, CP, BCGB for a few. With skinny tires your wheels get taco'd easier. So I went to Univ. Schwinn and got some fat 'ol 2.125's. I did the greenbelt a week ago and they were pretty phat for such a fat tire.

Is there a tire that offers the durability of the 2.125's with out being so fat....and that I can use at the BMX track too? Or do I just have to change my gearing and my tires when ever I want to change my riding venues?

I run Primo Dirt Monster 2.125 on the front and Primo V Monster 1.9 on the rear both in 20". They work fine for street riding but I don't ride dirt much so I can't say how they hang there. The Dirt Monster has an inverted tread design and seems to be popular with trail riders.

i run the exact same setup as toonces on my wee bike, usually. a recently destroyed rear tire, though, has left me riding my skatepark front on the back (a SNAFU RimJob -baydace 130psi tyre). it's all good. i ride dirt a little, but mostly street, though, and would never even think of trying to race my tank, so... *shrug*

How hard is park / ramp riding on a wee?

I used to skateboard ramp and it was so much fun, but i feel MUCH more comfortable on a bike, just never took it to the vert.

I'm almost 30. GREAT TIME TO START RAMP RIDING.

I rode skatepark for the first time back in October and it feels weird and squirelly at first, but you get used to it real quick. If you want, you can wear pads and stuff. I have a spare set of knee pads you can wear. Not the MTB-type one's either.

I was talkin 24 and toonces was talkin 20.

My rear is a little fat for the triangle, but I plan on putting a smaller chain ring up front and I'll use a little longer chain than the one I'm running so the tire can move back in the chain stays and give me more clearance for this fat ass tire.

ah, ok. so what do you think of the Comp IIIs? i know a couple people that swear by those for a good, cheap (relatively), all around tire (dirt and street). i was thinking about picking up a couple when my bike comes in.

You could say I would fall into that catagory too. I really like Comp III's alot on the street and in the dirt.

I should get some more 1.75's for the BMX track though. The 2.125's really took some shit over the rocky stuff at BCGB, but they are too fat for a race track. Instead of throwin elbows you would just have to ride beside some one and your tires will take 'em out.:D

Comp IIIs are OK, but I kept wearing mine out super fast. But I ride mainly on the streets.
