$10.00 entry, no USCF license required, winner takes all with 50% payback!
This event is an organized group ride comprised of smooth dirt roads, bad pavement and is subject to weather, erosion, cars, foot, and hooved traffic.
Dangers exists such as, but not limited too, holes, cracks, cattle-guards, barbed wire, sand, traffic, and locals.
A bail-out route is available, offering a 3 hour round trip at a leisurely pace.
Sturdy wheels, bikes, and riders are recommended.
We recommend a road or cyclocross bike with 23c or larger tires. Road surfaces range from smooth asphalt to smooth dirt road. Rocks are few, though the route can be sandy in some sections. A wheel truck will follow the main group. A sweep vehicle will be provided.

Staging location: About 14.7 miles south of Llano, Texas, on Hwy 16 south of the intersection at FM 315. Parking is at the Oxford Cemetery on the east side of HWY 16, again, just south of FM 315.
On the east side of Hwy 16 is the community cemetery of Oxford, TX, parking and staging is here. Across from the parking area is FM 113. The ride will be composed of FM 114, 113, 112, 109, 106, 105, and Hwy 2323.
This is north of Hwy 965 and Enchanted Rock.
Its the third year and better than ever!
If you made the first year's event, you'll remember Pat McCarty smoking a 3-up sprint. Last year's race saw mountain bike Olympian Tinker Juarez take a similar 3 man race.
Who will do it this time around?
100k total with about 35k of pavement, most if coming in the first and last few miles. Once you hit the dirt, it stays dirty. Some of the smoothest dirt around (some say like riding on packed powder snow).
A few creek/river crossings that are paved as well as the notorious "10k sandy stretch" around the 60k point. Rolling false flats with dirt and a bit of washboard.
Smooth highway pavement brings you to the last stretch of steep and rolling dirt before the final tactical hill-top finish after the final 10k of pavement.
Road bikes with normal tires have been the hot ticket each year, but a pair of 25c tires wouldn't hurt. Handling skills and luck are suggested.
