besides Cujo, what else is notable about the Cele course? Flat? Long, gradual climbs? Short steep climbs? Pot holes?

Flat?: mostly
Long gradual climbs: not too much
Short steep: yes there are 2 little hills, but difficulty factor is increases because Cujo resides at little hil #1
Pot holes? a couple, but overall the roads are in very good cond.

Let me clarify road cond.: when its not icy the roads are in very good cond. :(

I preregistered for both races when I registered last week. So since I'm paid up I'm a lot more likely to do it even if the weather is dismal. On the bright side, its only 1 1/2 hours of suffering and there's no mud involved - I can handle that.

Ray, this is your kinda course. You should dominte, especially if you're there for the sprint at the end.

That's some nice looking pavement. Should grip well even when wet. Is the whole course paved like that?

As I remember, just that stretch is recently paved. The rest is chip seal but is riddled with holes and ruts.

I might grab a Texas toboggan sled (cardboard box) and join all the kids surfing those hills Saturday ;)

Here’s a photo of the typical Cele road surface. For more pictures from last week, try this URL:

I think John just has a lot on his mind. Things like, “With just a little more support, I could skip Cat 4 altogether".

Yeah, If I had guys like that pulling me, I bet I could win a 1/2/3 race! Who do I have to bribe to skip straight to a TDF team?

I think I am developing a roadie body. All legs and a swollen head :D
