Eagle Trail
I don't know if it's been brought up yet, but Central Texas College put in a 5k trail about a year or two ago. It's open to the public, and gets moderate use. It is full time maintained, and you have any problems with it, attention will be given to the issue that week - sometimes the same day. If y'all are looking for a new trail to check out, come on out! I work on campus, I was on the 4 man crew that built the trail, and I would love to see a few other bikes on it. So far, I think I've been the only bike to touch it.

Is it single track?

Nope. Walking trail, but there's a lot of different types of terrain features. It gets on average 6 - 10 people a day, so you shouldn't have to worry much about walkers.

Took my 13 year old step son on his first mountain bike ride on this trail. It was really awesome. I can't imagine a better trail to learn on. Great job with this and I really do hope this sticks around.

Thanks for the kind words - I'll pass it on to the crew :)

I was a CJ major at CTC, I was thinking isn't the gun range in that area, lol...then I see the trail closed, range in use sign.

Yea, personally I don't see how a round can go past that berm unless you completely screw up. Then even if one does manage to slip by, I don't see the trajectory putting it anywhere near the trail. But, you can never be too safe with firearms.

So Jeremy was the college totally on board with this or was litigation and insurance a big hurdle?

There was discussion about insurance and injuries. We handled that by setting up "official use only" entry points for emergency vehicles to have access to. There's 5, I believe. Most are blended in pretty well.
