    Trials, again

Are there any trials riders in the Austin area other than the folks that come down from Dallas?

Oh and BTW I did happen to catch a few people riding down at Zilker on a Saturday, but haven't seen anything since. If anyone has any info, please post.

I think thats because there was a race (Tyler? Warda?) this weekend, and also there was the Shiner Bock ride which is a popular one. That's what people there were saying, anyway.

I'm sure there are some. I've tried to get some informal observed trials stuff going as part of the City Park TT series, but there were no takers. Watching those guys do their stuff in Lajitas was awesome - I'd kill to have those kinds of skills.

What was in Lajitas? A race with an observed trials event, I take it?

Yep - on Saturday, they had an observed trials event. Three courses, beginner, sport and expert. The Expert course was insane - there was a 3' culvert pipe mounted on top of a stack of pallets probably 5' high, with another pallet in the middle of the culvert pipe, with a rock on top of it. The transition was a ~3' gap, 3' drop onto a tractor tire. It was really, really sweet to watch those guys do their stuff.

Anyone have any pictures of the trials stuff at Lajitas to post?
