    The 'stache

Yes, I'm one of THOSE kind of riders now. Fenders and weird bar. Pretty soon I'll be wearing wool jerseys and demanding friction shifters.

Check the fenders and the new bar. Just by sitting on the bike it feels better, but we shall see. I could never get comfortable in the drops of a regular road bar.

Yes, one side is not plugged yet. I don't really care, I commute a lot!

Maybe I'll go check out Rivendell in the East Bay, I dunno.

aren't the STIs kinda funky feeling on there?

i'm thinking about putting a spare mtb bar on my Trek for commuting purposes. i, too, am not comfy in drops.

anywho, i dig. keep us/ me updated on how those bars feel.

Yes, it does feel funky, the levers are pitched up on the ends. Feels good though.

These are supposedly good for commuting, but they're $50, too.

If I had a spare MTB I would run a flat bar with reversed bar ends.

    Hmmmm....

with as much rain as we've been getting (cars getting swept from roads in SA), I don't think anyone is going to make fun of your fenders. the bars look cool, are they nitto? fuq the conformists, run what works for you.

    yep.

oh man, while on the subject....there's a Litespeed at REI, black, dual suspension, with CrossMaxes. one of the rims has the sticker on the drive side, and the other rim has the sticker on the non-driveside. that was driving me batty. i guess whoever built it got the rim flipped around.

A good natured haiku for the hypercritical:

    I care not of asthetics
    Unlike you fucktards

I got them from Rivendell. Ed was right, they are Nitto bars.

I really like them, I rode to work this am... thing is, I will need a shorter and higher stem, as they are a touch too low for me. Control is much improved over hunched over in the drops and trying to brake with ring and pinky fingers while on the hoods. I already have a high rise stem, so I guess I'll have to go higher. No weed jokes please.

I do need some bar tape, but not yet! More rides required.
