Pure Austin XTERRA Austin - 8/22-23/09

This year we'll have the same killer off road tri on Sunday 8/23/09, but we've added a trail run and XC mtn bike race on sat 8/22/09.

The XC race will be on the same course as the tri, but we beefed it up a little from last year. The 09 course will be a little harded and a little longer. And again, we'll have it well marked to alert racers of the challenging sections, which will be plentiful.

Did the trail run and had fun. Trail had less rocks than I expected, though much more 'climbing'. Can't say much for the event 'photographer', as I don't really consider pictures of me standing at start line (scratching my head and yawning, no less) as an 'event' picture. His other location was almost as bad, on the cliff where most people were holding on to tree limbs or rocks so as not to fall. Guy should've found someplace on the trail, perhaps with the lake in background, to take pics. There were plenty of scenic spots on the trail that would've served better.
