in process, but it looks like it will be a few more weeks until I can pull the trigger. Enjoy the wet weather until then.

Does having the yearly overhaul count?
If the human mind was simple enough to understand, we'd be too simple to understand it.
Wooooooo Hoooooooo it's raining!!!!!!
I'm going back to bed.![]()
hmm....I did just overhaul my rear pivots in anticipation of a sunday ride.
Bill, it looks like the two of us ruined the weekend rides
It must have been us. I did take the time to build a couple PVC bike stands for the house. Cleaned up the garage a lot!

I can't remember the last time a ride was called due to rain?
But, I am glad we're getting it.
Time to do some much needed bike maintenance.

Still haven't decided. I am leaning heavily towards the turner 5-spot. Cody wants me to try the knolly, but with the rain that is going to have to wait (and I am leaving the country for a week and a half).
Might not be making the final decision until october.
At this point I am wondering if this is all just minor degrees and whether I am splitting hairs looking at other bikes. Can the knolly be THAT much better than the turner...?

Both are suppose to be great bikes. I have little patience so I would probably go with the 5 Spot, so I could be back on my "own" bike as quickly as possible.
Have a good trip, and I look forward to the conclusion of your new bike quest.
Well, I rode the knolly this morning. At a wet city park.
Now I am really up against a tough decision. Either bike will be good. Both have pros and cons.
Either way I will win. Gotta skip town now, so no firm decision for a few weeks.

What were you thoughts on the Knolly? I'm curious.
I will type up the full report in a day or two and post them on Austinbike.com.
The Knolly and the Turner are basically tied for first place.
Knolly Pros: Climbs like crazy, good traction at a wet city park
Knolly Cons: Funkier pivot means more of the bike moving over obstacles, doesn't feel as "efficient" on flats
Turner Pros: Simple suspension/linkage for more "predictable" action
Turner Cons: Higher center of gravity, feels more "upright"
The good news is 2 good bikes, 2 good shops, either way I can't lose. Now I just need to work out the details, I could go either way.

While in the process of buying my current bike I was able to do an on - the - trail side by side comparison. I swear I would've made the wrong decision if I hadn't.
I was contemplating between a Prophet and a Stumpjumper - which I bought.
I love my stumpy but I wish I would have tried a Knolly Endorphin then.
Anyway, maybe you can arrange a side by side. Or maybe you don't need to...
Either way good luck on that!
