Bingo. The week before, we ran into some poor dude who got dropped and left behind at Mission Rd. and White. He had flatted out on a piece of glass, was in a hurry to try not to get dropped too far and subsequently shredded his replacement tube during the swap. By then, he was all but abandoned on the ride, left to walk the four miles back to Blue Star. We rolled up on the guy about 15 minutes after the pack abandoned him and got him going back on the road where he was able to complete the ride with us.
The fucksticks using this as a pretend race training ride* need to remember that this was started EIGHT years ago (and always ridden) as a no-drop ride. If you want to be billy bad ass racer boi, step up your game and hit the Tuesday Nighter or Wednesday La Tuna ride. Oh, wait, get dropped on those? Kinda shitty feeling, right, especially if you don't know where you're going? That's exactly what you're doing to the rest of the Monday folks who are out just looking for a fun ride.
*which is a joke in and of itself because if you were really training, Monday would be a recovery day after going hard/racing over the weekend.
